Went here when visiting the area in June. The service wasn't terribly friendly. My first time there so I had questions. No smile, very short with her answers. It seemed as though she wasn't having the best day. So, I got the Persian but the orange color one as she said it was the same flavor as the pink but a percentage went to a special cause I can't remember what. Also tried some other sweets. I may have gotten more if I didn't feel like I was putting her out. Either way, the pastries were good. Also bought some bread. Not sure I'd go back though. She treated the next customer the same way. But they do offer lunch and there is ample seating inside. So, hopefully your experience is better than mine.

This place has amazing food, whether you are getting lunch, bakery goods, or persians. It's all good! They have daily lunch specials which work out to be a great deal with good portion sizing. Their persian donuts are the best in town and not like other versions. They have different coloured icing to support different causes which is nice.

Okay, okay the Persian and all the rave. It’s a kind of cinnabun / donut covered in thick rich butter icing, original is pink and other flavours are available. It’s a little heavy for my taste, but they do have pastries and savory options here like soups and sandwiches. I did liked the decadent cream puffs and tarts. You can dine in or take out. Prices are reasonable for a bakery type establishment. They also sell breads and other convenience store items. A place to visit for sure.

Had to try while in Thunder Bay, after it was recommended to me by colleagues who have tried it. I was a little disappointed.
My main issue is to get a box, you have to order a lot of them (I think it was a dozen). I ordered 3 to bring home and they were all smushed together in a bag so the icing all stuck to each other.
The taste is decent, a little bit too sweet for my liking but let's be honest what was I expecting for a donut ?. Still worth trying for sure, and maybe next time I'll be able to enjoy more of them fresh!

Fun to experience the local delicacy at this original location. They are very popular and taste pretty good. I would not say 5 star doughnut good (even though they aren't really what you would call a classic doughnut), but decent. I think they are missing some punchy flavour. They are very soft though. The staff are friendly and efficient, and the place is clean. They still had persians at the end of the day while the other location sold out (they get their persians from here). All the persians are made at this location.
