On my recent trip to China, I became obsessed with 潮汕/潮州 chaoshan hand cut beef hotpot, and this shop did not disappoint.
Meat is particularly fresh and chopped on the day you order. It’s different from most Chinese hotpot as the cut is done not with a machine but by hand and against the grain of the muscle.
I personally don’t like oyster sauce in my dipping sauce, my biggest complaint is that there is no self serve dipping sauce...

We found a nice spot in Chinatown that serves Chaoshan beef hotpot! Each cut of beef is brimming with flavor, and one whole plate of beef costs only $4.45!
I love how fresh their seafood is and the variety of meats. My favorite is the ox tongue; it is so tender and flavorful✨
Their beef soup base is relatively blander than the usual mala soup...
