[Avoid at All Costs! Food Poisoning on a Birthday]
I ordered a jasmine tea cake for my friend’s birthday, and it turned into an absolute disaster. From the first bite, we noticed something was off—the mousse on top was hard and dense, not the soft texture you’d expect. We assumed it was just a different style and kept eating, but that turned out to be a huge mistake.
A short while later, both my friend and I ended up with severe diarrhea. I was mortified—imagine poisoning someone on their birthday with what was supposed to be a special treat!
This experience was beyond disappointing, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Stay away unless you want to ruin a celebration!

I am a repeat customer and have tried majority of the box cakes. Fluffy cakes with a light and fresh taste. Unique flavours resulting from Chinese cuisine fusion. Some cakes have a layer of mochi for a chewy consistency, pleasantly different. Highly recommend!

Got sea salt mochi cake in a container. The cream was sour and wet, everything tastes like a mess. Overall, leaves unpleasant aftertaste. The container was broken as well, after opening it was starting leaking.

I picked up my first shucake and it was an incredible experience no wait time, order ready to go, the cake was super fresh and melted in my mouth. It was super cute and elegant cake and tasted even better

The cakes looked so pretty and delish but it all came down to whether it tasted as good as it looked, if you know what I mean. I have tried A LOT of desserts and let me just say this right here was one of the best desserts I’ve ever had! The cake itself was generously filled with strawberries & the whipped cream was so fluffy, light and oozingly delish! What l loved the most about this cake was that it wasn’t too sweet and overpowering and how you could taste the flavours of the cake in itself && if you aren’t a strawberry fan, Shu Cakes got you with flavours like Oreo, Blueberries & Melon! The girl working at the front desk in the evening of December 08 was the kindest person ever. The cakes all looked very nice and the mango one tasted soft and delicious. 10/10 ill recommend!
the sea salt cream lychee mochi box cake is incredible! not like your average vanilla and cream based cake that’s too sweet and you’re done after a few bites. this one keeps you coming back with the gooey and chewiness of the mochi. must try. the earl grey crepe cake slice was also very nice and not too sweet.

Okay, I don’t know why there are lower reviews than 5/5, this is one of the BEST PLACE in Toronto to get CREPE CAKES. There are a variety of flavors to choose from, the staff is really nice and the prices are very reasonable for the great quality they serve. I’d give more than 5 stars! Definitely coming here again!!!!!
