so so good, it may seem intimidating to try because of the way it looks but the sweetest lady works there and the food is just amazing

If Toronto is an open player game and one quest is to find the best Bahn Mi in the city, you will be lead here. Also, the lady who works here is one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met. Highly recommend.

I’ve travelled all over Vietnam and have enjoyed Bahn Mi from the North to South. No Bahn Mi outside of Vietnam comes close to taste or authenticity as 88 Food’s. I cannot recommend this place enough—and the prices are amazing. I didn’t know you could find cheap food this good in Toronto.

I had a really nice takeout of the chicken and steamed rice egg foo young and the purple rice and black sesame specialty hot drink. Portions were generous, pricing was beyond reasonable being downtown, service was super friendly. I really appreciated how the food was not overly salty as can often be the case with takeout. I ate every bite, and it wAs satisfying and felt healthy, too. Thank you for taking care of dinner for me tonight 😊
Delicious food, friendly staff, and so affordable! A must try

Its hard finding authentic, cheap banh mi in Toronto these days. One of the last, one of the best, the owner is the sweetest lady you'll ever meet, and the banh mi the best since Rose's closed down.

We like to support local business so it's unfortunate that I have to leave a bad review.
We bought 3 bánh mi (cold cut, lemongrass chicken, barbecued pork) and none of them was authentic, which would still be fine if they were delicious. The truth is the bread was stale and the microwaved meat stank (I think the weird smell came from the plate she used). I was nauseated by the taste and had to spit it out. We threw away two sandwiches but my fiancé finished the chicken one. He became sick and had bad poop for two days. Literally the worst food of my entire life. The owner was nice though.

If you’re looking for a quick lunch on a student budget, this is the place! I’ve been going here for almost 4 years, the owner is sweet and the banh mi definitely hits the spot after classes. Definitely want to try the other dishes and the drinks next time
