If you want to taste different Ethiopian dishes, this is the right one.
Just wanted to leave a review that we came on a Friday at about 1pm. Although both on google maps and their physical sign at the restaurant say they're open, they weren't. I'm not sure why though. We were looking forward to eating here!
Arguably the best Ethiopian food in Toronto. Our server Zamet provided excellent service.
Our second time to this place for lunch and we are dazzled by the food. We ordered the vegetarian platter for two, and each of the six different foods on the injera had a unique and full flavour. Definitely the best Ethiopian food we have ordered anywhere. And very modestly priced. The service was friendly, warm, wonderful. We live about 90 minutes from Toronto, and this place is worth the trip!

They have such a delicious Shiro.
Which I strongly recommend for everyone.
The cha-cha tibs is also top on the list.
They have a very nice shiro, and the waiter is amazing.
LOVE this place! I used to eat here regularly when I lived in the city; so now that I live more than an hour away, making a visit to Abyssinia is a MUST every time I am anywhere nearby. This is absolutely, hands down, the BEST Ethiopian food in the city, no comparison. Sanadoo is amazing at what she does! Her Berbere sauce is in a league of its own, I am a massive fan of the vegetarian platter, can't seem to get enough (I am not a vegetarian, that may tell you something😆). TRULY, the Alicha Wot is incredible, yebeg tibs is dream haunting, the kitfo is Devine; and the injera...OMG you'll think you've died and gone to heaven! I could go on and on. Honestly, no matter what dish it is, it's always the very best I have ever had. I crave her food all the time and grieve the reality that I simply live too far away to make a regular visit to indulge my love of Ethiopian food. If you are looking for the best Ethiopian food you've ever had... Look no further. You've found it at Abyssinia. Enjoy!
Delisious Food with exiting service, very good place to come with family and friends.
I came here yesterday to try the all you can eat vegan buffet only to find that they no longer offer it. Surprised and disappointed as only learned that October 17 and less than a month later no longer available. My friend and I decided to try a vegetarian ( all vegan though when asked the server) platter for two instead. It was hearty, delicious and huge portion which we enjoyed with a cup of spice tea. I am really glad that I came and would definitely come here again. Highly recommended!

A really sane and wonderful place to have great Ethiopian food we stopped visiting our fave when it turned out to be so busy that the noise and the lack of service ... WE are delighted to have discovered this little gem!! Our party was of three we always order a vegetarian platter and a meat platter, the lamb was superbly seasoned and tender, the beef eaters were super happy I would have like the njera tangier and I hope for this on our next time, the ambience is easy on the ears and no huge TV blasting, although they do have a bar give it a try!

By Far The Best Habesha Cuisine I Had In The City. The Shiro Wot And Cha-Cha Tibs Were Amazing. They Were Generous With The Portions They Served Us, It Was Very Filling And Satisfying. Top Tier Establishment Forsure.

Nice clean little restaurant with several vegan options. I had the Misir Alicha Wot (lentils in a turmeric sauce with a side salad and injera). The flavor was nice but not overpowering and the portions were generous. The coffee was amazing. Note: nothing on the menu was marked as vegan (just vegetarian) so be sure to ask the waitress but most vegetarian options seem to also be vegan. Updated from previous review on 2024-10-20
Every Tuesday and Thursday all you can eat a vegan buffet
