I walk past this place often and always wanted to stop in. And I’m glad I did. The chef was so down to earth. Explained the menu and the history of the business to me. Just phenomenal attitude👌🏾. Ordered a Jackie Brown-Jerk Chicken personal and the flavour was unreal. I even met a nice woman in the store as well and chatted about life lol. Almost like a barber shop in a pizza parlor. I’m a permanent customer and will be bringing the gang over for more!!!

My first time having Detroit pizza and Afros did not disappoint. They take a “fine dining” approach with their pizzas and it shows!

I got the jerk chicken pizza and it was extremely flavourful and the owners were super chill

found their pop up at the Waterdown fall street eats and we were blown away, my husband got the oxtail pizza and it was amazing! The gentleman with glasses working the pop up was very kind and approachable, his customer service was a 10/10 thank you!👌🏼

Honestly would love to give 5 stars but can’t. The pizza is original and tastes good but the crust is quite greasy (and im pro greasy) and the restaurant itself honestly doesn’t present well when it comes to cleanliness. Could use some tlc

I had the Sister Nancy special and the Hendrix personal pizza. They're expensive but totally worth it and I highly recommend the Hendrix which is my fav. 10/10. UPDATE: Went back again to try the King's Personal & the Jackie Brown. 10/10 as always. I also came back for the Hendrix pizza again cause I loved it so much. ANOTHER UPDATE: I went back again to try the Houston and Whisper pizzas which I both give 9/10. ANOTHER UPDATE: I went back again to try their new seasonal dish the Korean Earth Wind and Fire pizza. 10/10. ANOTHER UPDATE: I tried the new Sam Cooke deep dish pizza and it was really good and I would give it a 7/10.

I had this place saved for a couple years and finally found time to visit upon my most recent visit to my hometown. Afro's Pizza is an absolute gem. Detroit style pizza is a rare find in Canada, Descendant's has been my longtime favourite but Afro's might be taking the crown. I appreciate how there's a personal size pizza, much more convenient than forcing myself to gorge down 4 pieces at 8 Mile or Descendant's. The pricing here is pretty good compared to competition as well. Afro's does toppings right - great variety of gourmet toppings including a number of complimentary garnishings to make your pizza your own. He doesn't hold back with the portion of the toppings either. I like how the place plays homage to key figures in black culture as part of the branding. Everything is right about Afro's Pizza, I wish Emad much success in the future.

If you are in the downtown area or have a stopover at the Union Station, I recommend taking a walk (about 20 minutes) to this cool gem. The best pizza I have ever had. The toppings are unique, and the presentation is so amazing. Listen to some great music while waiting (if one of the two chairs is available) and take it all in. So friendly, authentic, and yummy!
If you are dining right there (meaning on the street patio), bring some wet napkins with you. You will need them after your meal. So enjoyable. Thank you!
