Allen's Reviews
Just had a delicious meal and it was made absolutely perfect by a young woman with a lovely Irish lilt in her voice. She noticed I had a balance issue and led me to a more accessible bathroom. A very positive experience all round. The server was also pleasant and helpful.

Allen's is a classic spot with a gorgeous patio, perfect for a great dining experience. The service is top-notch, with attentive and organized staff providing excellent guidance on the menu. The food is delicious, especially the tender burger, teriyaki sirloin, lamb shank, and ribs. Vegetarian options are plentiful, offering typical pub fare. The drinks are great, with a variety of beers and cocktails like the well-prepared Paloma. The decor is nice and classic, adding to the atmosphere. The patio is lovely, especially in the summer with beautiful trees, but diners should be prepared to wait for a table. Customers have praised the restaurant's Thanksgiving dinner, describing it as a close to homemade meal, with delicious food and generous portions. The menu may be small, but every dish is said to "rock." The staff is friendly, and the desserts are not to be missed.
Recent reviews highlight that Allen's is a great pub with delicious food and a good selection of drinks, including Guinness. The steak salad and fish and chips are highly recommended, and reservations are suggested as it gets busy on weekends. Diners also enjoyed a special omelette, which was tasty despite a minor disappointment about salad options. The restaurant is especially popular on show nights at the Danforth Music Hall. Guests frequently order dishes like braised beef short ribs, lager battered halibut & chips, and Japanese dumplings with mojo verde sauce. The short ribs are cooked to perfection with smooth parmesan mashed potatoes, and the fish is crispy and flavorful. Desserts like sticky toffee pudding and chocolate Guinness cake are favorites and perfect finishes to the meals. The attentive service and the chance to see bands eating there add to the appeal. Overall, Allen's remains a beloved neighborhood spot for a great meal and friendly atmosphere.
