This was one of our first stops of 2026 on a quick trip to Toronto from Halifax. What a great little spot, the food absolutely slaps!

THE WORST JAMAICAN FOOD!! Ordered via uber eats and the jerk chicken was INEDIBLE. Dry as rubber and looks like it been sitting all day. Don’t accept any late night orders if it’s the end of night and you serve this garbage. Also not to mention the rice n peas was DRYER than a dessert. I feel robbed of my $20. I want a REFUND since uber eats won’t help me.

When I moved to the neighborhood 4 years ago, I tried Allywns after seeing their newspaper reviews and was not impressed. Thankfully Rasta Pasta was there for my jerk chicken cravings. But given their recent sheninhangs in their Kengiston location, I've been giving Allwyn a shot again
Their jerk chicken has been okay, not tasty vs. Rasta Pasta, but the biggest sin: dry coleslaw....
If you got spicy jerk chicken, you need the coleslaw to help soften the spice and their coleslaw is one of the worst I've had
And now after 4 tries in the last 3 months, I'm now done with Allywns

Sandwich was good. Everything else went down hill from there. Cold, hard, tough oxtail, small portions, no transparency. It may be the location but honestly not impressed and actually pretty disappointed for how much we payed. Won't be coming back.

Staff works so slow, I have to wait for way more longer for my food,
Will recommend to go on another store, if you don’t wanna waste your time

Usually Allwyn's is pretty good with portions and taste. I get the jerk chicken roti, which at some point was a bit hard to find due to not having roti so it's always a treat when I can order one. Today was a miss though—bit into something hard and realized it was a metal bit off of something, looks like rivet from a pan. Not a great experience.
Food tasted great (until I bit into the metal thing), was hot and fresh. Just a sad incident.

Best beef Pattie’s in the neighborhood. One of my favourites.

I ordered a spicy beef patty which was delicious, and a not great vegetable roti which was advertised as “potato and chick pea”. The roti was fine, but there were (no exaggeration) 6 chick peas in the entire thing. It was like eating a pot of very mildly flavoured potatoes.

I got the jerk chicken sandwich: big ol' piece of spicy meat on coco bread with coleslaw. Very quick, really good quality, excellent value.
