Second visit to this "pop-up". Quality is consistent, and it's always nice to have a place that serves brunch that is not the usual fare. The sorrowful rice is a Chinese BBQ pork paired with rice, veggies, and a fried egg, a la the Stephen Chow film, but is actually good and not gimmicky. The sandwich is also delicious with quality ingredients. A bit on the pricey side but worth it.

I loved this special Chicken Parmesan Sando. A lightly toasted brioche bun is slathered with a tangy mayo, and clearly it's trying its best to encompass the giant slab of chicken, smashed thin for tenderness and breaded with a fragrant breadcrumb crust that both provides a satisfying crisp/crunch on the edges while soaking up the tomato sauce and cheese. The umami bomb from the tomato sauce and the mix of mozzarella and parmesan plays the classic melody of flavours in your mouth, heightened with a refreshing bite of basil sprinkled on top. Be ready to get messy, but its worth it.

It's a nice brunch spot but it wasn't a very smooth experience from a service perspective. The food was very good, but not great, and because it's a pop up I worry that they won't have enough time to really refine things to make this place as good as it could be.

We came here after seeing their pop up menu. We were told that we were one of the first walk in customers.

I ordered the pork belly sandwich, it was really flavourful and tasty. It was a little messy to eat. The portion is kind of small for the price you pay for one sandwich. I wish it came with a little side to make it more worth it.

The cafe itself was really cozy and cute. It gave a really warm welcoming. The server was really nice. The service itself was a little slow. I also got the red bean ice, totally different than what I imagine.

Great find for brunch. Creative menu with Mexico and Asian flavors and components. The Kim chi spritz in non alcohol and amazing. Definitely will return. Staff are enthusiastic about the food.

I was recommended this place by a friend and I was very pleasantly surprised! I ordered the egg sando, the avocado sando and the pork belly sando as well as the potato puffs to share.

Each of the sandos were very good and interesting in terms of taste and textures but I would say they were a bit heavy on the salt and definitely a little greasy in the second half. I think they could benefit from having some kind of element that makes it more balanced like something acidic or refreshing.

The potato puffs were lovely with a hint of citrus with the parmesan and cream. I wasn’t expecting them to be balls of mashed potato but I enjoyed them nonetheless! Would recommend trying this place out for breakfast or brunch :)

This morning marked our fourth visit to Alma and once again, it was an outstanding experience. We had the pork belly sandwich, the scrambled special, and the French toast. Each dish was exceptional, maintaining the high standards we've come to expect from this place.

The pork belly sandwich was rich and savory, with perfectly cooked pork belly adding a delightful crunch. The scrambled special was deliciously creamy and well-seasoned, a perfect breakfast choice. The French toast was light, fluffy, and beautifully presented, making for a sweet end to our meal.

Abby, our waitress, was wonderful as always. Her friendly demeanor and attentive service truly enhance the dining experience. We also had the pleasure of meeting the chef's husband, who, like the rest of the staff, was incredibly warm and welcoming. The service here is consistently amazing, adding to the overall enjoyment of each visit.

We'll definitely be returning to Alma, as it continues to be one of our favorite spots for a fantastic meal.

TL;DR: sandwiches are worth a try but wouldn’t go back again

We tried the pork belly sando and the avocado sando. We also had a side of the potato puffs and a HK milk tea.

Both sandwiches are quite small for the price. The pork belly was tasty but the sandwich could’ve used some acidity or freshness to balance the greasiness (in my opinion). The avocado sando was also just alright if anything it was a little salty.

I don’t know what I was expecting from the potato puffs, but they were a bit mushy for my liking.

Our total came to $52 which is a bit expensive for the portion you get but that’s Toronto for you.

I also don’t recommend takeout as the eggs had started to leak out by the time we walked home (10 min).

We ordered the avocado breakfast sandwich and the potato puffs. They were decent, but not exceptional. The potato puffs were a bit too mushy for my taste, although the parmesan cheese flavor was pleasant. The breakfast sandwich could have benefited from a fresh element, like lettuce, to balance the heaviness and greasiness. Overall, the meal was just okay, and I'm not sure I would order it again. The total cost for the three items was around $45, which felt quite expensive.
