The service was great, the owner was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We loved the sorrowful rice and avocado rosti, and the coffee menu is small but there is good espresso. There is a dinner menu and a rotating special of the day that comes with coffee or tea. We would come back to try more menu items.

We had such a great brunch here! The food was absolutely delicious, with lots of Hong Kong influences that made it special. The HK-style French Toast was outstanding.
The owner is super friendly – we even had a nice chat about music festivals. The whole place feels very welcoming and beautifully decorated.
Since we stayed right next door at Sonder Apartments, it was the perfect start into the day. Highly recommended!

I live at The Brixton, so I popped over to grab some food with no expectations. I’m not usually wowed very easily, but I was — so much so that I had to come on here and write a review.
1. The staff was very attentive and quick to serve.
2. I ordered the avocado sandwich with added pork belly and an HK milk tea. It was packed and ready for takeout in under 8 minutes — a lifesaver since I was carrying my cranky 1-year-old who was ready for a nap.
3. The brunch sandwich was delicious. Every component was cooked perfectly, and the buns were soft and fresh.
4. The HK-style milk tea was flavorful and came in a beautiful reusable glass bottle.
5. The restaurant was clean, and for the quality of food, I’d say the prices are very fair.
I even called my husband to tell him how good it was, only for him to say he’d already taken our two kids there while I was at work one day 😂. Safe to say, everyone in our family approves of Alma + Gil — and now so do I!
