Very nice setting, restaurant was cozy and intimate. Food was great. Enjoyed our celebration there!
The food at alo bar was phenomenal but I would not recommend this for an intimate dinner as the noise level was off the charts. We asked to be moved and they told us they did not have a table but there were two or three empty tables that were never filled the entire time that we were at the restaurant. I would not go back for dinner at this restaurant as it was not relaxing at all.
Let me begin by expressing from the moment you open the entrance door into Alobar, you and your companions are greeted, welcoming ambiance and impeccable service. Followed by the selections of unique masterpieces creative innovated dishes created by owner chef Patrick and chef Kevin. The multi menu selections and wine pairing enhanced and infused the dishes's flavours. An evening out to sit back, relax and enjoy an absolutely delicious dinner in turn to a memorable evening out. Cheers! Mille Grazie Patrick Kevin and team at Alobar!
Amazing! Where to start?! The torched Hamachi was exquisite- it melted in your mouth and was a perfect shareable. The beet salad was beautifully plated with a perfectly matched flavor profile of ingredients. We shared the Australian Wagyu beef (perfectly rare) with Canestri and broccolini and added a Rioja....this meal is a showstopper. The Mille-Feuille was outstanding...the sour cherry cheesecake so rich and creamy! All cocktails we tried were delicious. Nixon's knowledge of the menu and guidance on portion sizes was exceptional. Truly a remarkable experience. You will not be disappointed.
Perfection as usual, the best. I love Alobar, the experience is just splendid. My fav spot in Toronto.
I ordered a tenderloin, it was cooked properly as ordered, but the meat was a little tough and buried in a ho hum sauce
Another wonderful evening at my favorite gem in Yorkville. Always a memorable evening. The ambiance, food and service is on another level. Charlotte, many thanks to you and the team. Bob
Such an amazing experience. Possibly the very best restaurant we have ever experienced. If 10 star rating existed we would give it a 10! Can't wait to try it again
Worst food experience and service was no better. Which is a shame as it used to be a gem. Food was inedible and service was lazy and bossy.
Just disappointed with the food by Alo's standards. We have dined at the original ALO on Spadina which was outstanding. Food way over priced for what we got. Wine was good but overpriced. Service was very good . Just about the food. Many thanks .

We had very fatty meat. That was certainly not very pleasant. The service was good. But the taste mattered the most when evaluating a restaurant.
The servers were fun and efficient- very welcoming. We both had the Dover sole which was alarmingly thick
Great experience and food, Nixon is an outstanding server and made our anniversary dinner seamless and enjoyable
Sat at the bar facing the open kitchen but served by the waitstaff which was a perfect combination of good entertainment combined with great service and amazing food. They got one of our dishes wrong (sea bream not sea bass - easy mistake to make) but immediately rectified it. Kobe beef special was delicious and the banana cream pie is to die for. Surprised they lost their Michelin star!
This place can't decide whether it wants to be a noisy, lively bar or a fine dining experience so it fails at both. Food is average but priced for high end. Service is ok but OTT for the ambience.
