I like the Arbor room because it feels genuinely healthier. However the service is extremely slow. Someone on cash should not also be delivering plates to tables or the pickup counter. I think the staff are often confused about their exact roles too.
Food portions have gone down over the years but prices are the same. Although some meals are still a good deal for what you get, the portion size issue is really sad. It used to be such an amazing deal.
Opens at 8:30 am M-F on the website and Instagram but Google Maps and the online ordering system says 9:00 am. Please fix this so it's consistent. I don't know which one to go by!

The amount of people that would consider this as a restaurant is insane. It’s a cafeteria, take your modifications somewhere else and don’t drag the line. The student/service crew here have been amiable and diligent, the reviews that says otherwise are just bunch of entitled brats.

Giving a customer attitude for changing their mind about something small before paying for the order isn't considered great service, at least not in my book.

I stopped in here for a coffee and it was a horrible experience. The combination of unfriendly service and terrible coffee has ensured that I will never go here again. There are MANY other restaurants and cafes in the area that deliver much better customer service and coffee.

I ordered an iced Americano, and it was honestly awful. I told the staff that it was way too bitter and tasted clearly over-extracted, but they just brushed it off and said it was because of the dark roast. That’s simply not true. As someone who drinks everything from Tim Hortons and Starbucks to specialty coffee with various origins, I know the difference — this wasn’t “dark roast.” It was burnt. Completely burnt.
Even worse, the staff’s attitude was a total disaster. Instead of trying to figure out what went wrong, she just kept repeating that it was “dark-roasted.” Then she told me I could just add sugar or milk if I wanted — but come on, once the coffee itself is that bad, no amount of sugar or milk can fix it.
The taste was an absolute disaster; honestly, it felt like something humans shouldn’t be drinking. I threw it away after two sips — it completely ruined my morning. I’m not a picky person, and I don’t usually care about small things, but both the coffee and the staff’s attitude were unbelievably disappointing. This is not the kind of quality a school café should serve, and definitely not the kind of staff it should employ. Totally not worth it.

Healthiest place to eat on campus, but I'd say poor quality like the food being disheveled or overly simple. The people working there can be mean as well, including by disbelieving you for your order, and acting incredulous when you ask for white sugar for coffee. To me, the music is way too loud as well and I'd appreciate if non-dairy milk didn't have an additional cost. Overall I recommend trying it if you're on campus anyway.

It is a disgrace to bagels to call what they served me a “bagel.” The most stale thing I’ve tasted in my entire life. I could not even finish it. Maybe it would’ve been better if they toasted it / warmed it up, but they couldn’t do that! Also…. Half the menu was sold out at 5pm?! Atmosphere is always nice though.

Arbor Room Cafe, it’s at the University of Toronto campus, is a so beautiful place. This cozy little cafe has a lot to offer and I find myself coming back everyday Monday to Saturday (Sunday is close).
The cafe's interior is charming and cute, stunning interiors. The outdoor seating is also great with the upgraded campus landscaping.
This place is great for breakfast, lunch, snack, coffee and tea.
The staff are always incredibly friendly, from the moment you walk in, you're greeted with warm smiles and impeccable customer service, accommodating, friendly service and nice! Their attentiveness and eagerness to cater to your needs truly make the cafe a welcoming and inviting place to be.
It's nice to have a reliable place where students can chill, study and catch up with friends. I go there and spend the entire day.
The menu at Arbor Room Cafe boasts some delectable offerings, Plus, the pricing is quite reasonable, making it an excellent choice for students and visitors alike.
It's the kind of place where you can unwind, enjoy good food, and feel right at home. Whether you're a student or simply passing through, I highly recommend paying a visit to this wonderful cafe.
I think the university is super lucky to have this place on campus.
