The moment I arrived with my girlfriend at 6 for a dinner reservation the staff was pushy and curt. There was no chance to settle in and review the menu, they repeatedly pushed to get our order. Then we were rushed the whole meal.The moment we decided against dessert, they produced the bill and stood over the table with the Visa machine and we were basically punted out onto the sidewalk at 7:10.I realize that they are a busy restaurant and have to move patrons along for the next reservation but what was supposed to be a nice evening out became a very irritating experience.The food was delicious as always but not an enjoyable experience.

Ascari is one of the best restaurants in Toronto, hands down. Every time I go, I’m blown away by the quality of the food, the attentiveness of the service and the way that they go above and beyond to make sure you have a great experience.My only complaint is that the carbonara is so good, I’m reluctant to try anything else on the menu for fear of missing out.
Everything was perfect (!) from the service to the food to the music and the amazing dessert. An east end gem.

Really great experience here. The food was good. Very very good. Simple yet elegant and sophisticated in both presentation and taste. Atmosphere unpretentious and very comfortable and the service was perfect. I would say i am frequently dissatisfied by resteraunt quality, with a feeling of just meh, but this spot was just fantastic. Will be back soon.
Hands down best food you will ever have!As an Italian and a big foodie this is high quality Italian food.Also it's very reasonably priced for the quality and portions of food you get

The waiters in this restaurant showed no care to their customers and very impolite. One of them brought us a pasta that we didn’t order, and intended to charge us for it. After we told him that we didn’t order the pasta, he took it back to the kitchen and talked out loud “they said they didn’t order it” in a very aggressive way to his colleagues that the whole restaurant can hear it. One of the pastas was even cold when just brought on the table. Definitely not going to go for a second time, highly not recommended!!!!

Won't be back! This has been a reliable fixture for good Italian food on Queen East, but unfortunately we felt the experience was marred by subpar service this time around. From the moment we sat down, we felt rushed by a server who seemed more concerned about turning over the table, rather than ensuring we had a comfortable and positive dining experience. The food itself is good. The insalata verde and zucca fritti were tasty starters. However, the kale over-powered the tagliatelle, rather than allowing the braised duck to shine as the star ingredient. The branzino is a nicely prepared dish too, but the portion size was a bit of a let down. All this to say, you won't have a bad experience at this intimate little resto, but good service is important to us and more attention to detail would go a long way here.
