Despite all the good reviews, my experience was very poor and nowhere close to what others have experienced or what the photos posted depict. I came here on a Sunday morning with two other friends. We started off with a coffee each while deciding what to order. However, when our drinks came, the cups we all received were chipped in multiple areas. Definitely not a good start, and the coffee didn’t taste great either.

We ordered the quiche with a side salad, which consisted of some mixed greens, mushy tomatoes, and a garnish of seeds. The quiche wasn’t very fresh or cooked well; the bottom felt undercooked as it was mushy and wet. We also ordered eggs with bacon and sausage. The bacon was way overdone—it was dry and snapped as soon as my fork touched it. The sausages were the breakfast ones bought from the store, which were salty and also burnt on one side. The two slices of baguette were tough and not fresh. The black beans that came with it were flavorless, with just some dried parsley on top. Only the eggs were good, and that was the only food I was able to eat.

The server never checked on us; we had to get up from our table each time we needed something from him. For the price and quality of food, there are plenty of better options nearby.

so I came here off of the photos and good reviews and need to mention - the photos must be from when there were different owners because the food looks nothing like that. I hate to leave a review that’s negative but I like leaving honest reviews. There was one gentleman working on the kitchen side who was kind and delightful. The person working on the opposite side however almost didn’t come to take our order. Spilled coffee everywhere. Didn’t bringing us cutlery with our food and was not attentive but was nice enough. It’s sad to say that the “maple syrup” is not actually maple syrup but the Old Mill’s table syrup…. The eggs were ordered over easy and came over hard and honestly, it was just not ideal. It wasn’t terrible food - the pancakes were good but it wasn’t anything to recommend. if you’re going based on photos - just keep in mind they’re old and not accurate.

Not very impressed. Food was so-so, and didn’t bear much resemblance to the descriptions in the menu. The toast was especially bad. But man, talk about slow service. Definitely don’t come here if you’re hoping to get out in under an hour.

Food is decent and cheap but you should be prepared to wait an hour between the waiter checking in on you. Order as soon as you get the chance and don’t bet on getting your moneys worth on the unlimited potatoes

The owners here are very down to earth, kind and easy-going. It feels good to eat here and know they are being genuine. It’s comfy inside and the service isn’t unnaturally nice which I sometimes get around here. Auntie Uncle is a nice change if you’re tired of the old “HI HOW ARE YOU!!” toronto style restaurant lolAnyways, this is an incredible little spot on a cute side street off of college. Come chill for a long while and have a little coffee! On top of the location and service, they have lovely food and coffee. I especially like the chimichurri and choripán but you really can’t go wrong!10/10 What a gem

Amazing food, such an easy brunch spot. I got the eggs benedict and loved that they served it on a truly fresh croissant. Others in the group were gluten free and got the breakfast tacos since they have corn tortillas and also said they were delicious. Recommend this for an easy breakfast option!

Great food, I had the omelette with a side of salad, everything perfectly cooked, so flavourful and balanced. I highly recommend this place, an authentic hidden gem.

It’s hard to believe that you can make a bad breakfast because it’s so basic but this place should be avoided at all cost. Do not be fooled by the positive reviews below - DO NOT EAT HERE. The place is filthy, the service is terrible and the food is bad. They should be ashamed to call this a restaurant. I’m mad I wasted my money on this place.

An “old” establishment under new, enthusiastic management. It was my first visit. I must say they probably served the best omelette I have ever tasted. Fluffy and flavourful. Technically perfect and not short on taste. I give 5/5 for that alone.

My partner and I came here for brunch, today. I had the Chocolate and Banana French Toast, but the chef wasn't happy with the condition the bananas were in, so they asked if strawberries were a suitable substitution. I agreed, and boy am I glad. They were delicious and I have no regrets. My partner had the BBLT, without the egg (due to allergies), and was also not disappointed. I highly recommend this place for brunch.
