We were looking for a spot in this area for lunch and glad we found this one with brunch on Friday. Food is delicious and its service is nice. Recommend it!

I'd rather drink the water out of the drain in my basement floor.
Had a fantastic brunch at Avling! Love that they have some great veggie options available.
Important note: You must get the Saskatoon Berry scones! They are fantastic. Get them for the table or get them all for yourself - you won’t regret it.

This is a really great brew pub with tasty beer, really decent food and great staff. Patio is a great spot to hang in the summer, and the indoor bar is a great place to meet the neighbours and refresh. They are also super kid friendly so it’s my go to spot when friends with kids want a place where kids are welcome and the size of the place deafens the frenzy.

Walked in, party of five, no reservations, 3:55 p.m. the day after Boxing Day and seated immediately, perfect timing since happy hour kicked off at 4 p.m. (Tuesday–Sunday, 4–6 p.m.).
The space is beautiful! It's hygge-inspired, minimalist, warm and inviting. The beers lean farmhouse-style and are made with fresh, local ingredients. This isn’t everyone’s go-to style, so it’s good to know going in, but they’re fun to explore and very fruit-forward. We sampled the lagers, pale ale, and IPA and enjoyed comparing styles.
But then… the food. Good god! If these were just the snacks, I can only imagine what the full plates are like. We ordered several items to share and every one impressed. The Fries Royale were indulgent, with truffle gouda sprinkled on the crispy fries and black garlic aioli tying it all together. The karaage chicken was perfectly crispy with savory-sweet maple miso, balanced heat, and brightness from pickled ginger. The duck spring rolls were deeply flavorful and comforting, paired beautifully with the tangy sour beer and blue plum sauce. And the brussellocoli...hands down the standout. The gochujang glaze, crunch, and freshness created layers of flavor I could happily eat an entire plate of.
Whether you stop in for snacks or settle in for dinner, you won’t regret it.

Cant beat the vibe of a brewery with a strong food menu. Must try in the east end

Was really looking forward to coming to this restaurant to celebrate an engagement. Unfortunately, we were verbally accosted by a server for unknowingly bringing an outside coffee and removed due to this. We support local small businesses weekly but have never experienced this type of treatment at any restaurant. Still shocked and in awe about this and urge all not to support this establishment.
First time here.
Food was excellent
I arrived during happy hour so i had a beer and the brussellicoli was excellent. Then at 5 i ordered dinner salmon with risotto again excellent. Oh i couldn't resist to their apple cake in a warm sauce wow! Oh andbi tried their chardonnay which was a great choice

An exceptional night with a very special purpose the food and the vibe was really fun. We had one of the first nights they were having tomahawk steaks.
Not normally a dinner spot for steak and wine I’d assume. But with a start for beer for the famous blue jay and then some wine and steak. The fries were exceptional.
Left full and happy and nice night watching the street. Highly recommend, also heard they have a roast night on Sunday.

Avling is a great spot for groups. The space is big, open, and filled with natural light from the huge windows. The beer is really good and the food was tasty too. I just wish they added more plants around the dining room to make it feel a bit cozier. Still a solid place to hang out with friends.

This used to be a go-to spot but they update their menu frequently, and with each recent update, their vegan options get slimmer.

Great spot, barrel aged bears were wonderful. Got the Brussels Sprouts and Duck Spring Rolls.
The bottomline: food quality has gone downhill. Better options in the area.
I've been going to Avling since 2019 and noticed the food has been insanely bad lately. Brussel sprouts and fries were salty, the burger was so small for 30 dollars, the beer seemed watered down. Also, do not order any of their Asian inspired dishes!
The furnitures were also ran down and everything seemed sticky especially the tables. What used to be a busy place during dinner service has now turned quiet for good reasons.
