Except for the amazing empanada and chickpea panisse, the food was just okay. If you're decent at cooking I guarantee you can make a lot of their other meals at home. Prix Fixe wasn't worth it when you can just get their more worthwhile dishes a la carte. Ambience, polite workers, and the beautiful interiors are what make it worth it. Otherwise it wasn't too expensive, and we will give their drinks a try one day.
Avelo has a warm, elegant atmosphere and the service at first felt very professional. The gazpacho was refreshing and well-balanced, and the dessert was beautifully done , a nice finish to the meal.
However, several of the other dishes were surprisingly bland, lacking basic seasoning and texture you’d expect from a fine dining vegan menu. The portions were extremely small, and by the end of the 8 course tasting, the bill came to nearly $400 for two, which felt excessive for...
I was absolutely floored by the superb service and quality of cocktails made at Avelo. The beautiful layout and design to the restaurant was already enough to combat the overcast blah to the day. Recognizing it was a birthday reservation, the bartender was generous enough to improvise a stellar cocktail on the fly, personalizing it to the patron. With an accessible menu, fresh ingredients, an adherence to customer oriented care, and a warm and welcoming atmosphere for everyone...
