This just ain’t the place no more at all. I just ate there and got the runs ;(

The service was so stale the lady gave me two napkins which was thoughtful?

But damn my hole is on fire!

Please go back to the way it was!

Today, I walked away deeply disappointed after purchasing beef patties ( 6 for $14.50) from the iconic Bathurst Station. I’m not sure if ownership has changed, or if the recipe itself has been altered, but something is definitely not the same.

The crust, which once stood out as thick, flaky, and full of flavour, was instead thin, dry, and lacking that familiar warmth. The filling? So salty it could defrost the coldest, iciest Toronto winter.

For years, grabbing a patty here was a cherished part of my trips into Toronto, an experience I looked forward to, rooted in community and nostalgia. Sadly, that joy has now become a memory of the past.

I truly urge the owners to rethink how they are preserving this legacy. For many of us Torontonians, this wasn’t just food; it was a tradition, a piece of our city’s heartbeat. Please do better.

I really love this place. I've been coming here since I was a kid. Is it luxury? Absolutely not, but that's why it's amazing. You can get properly fed and a drink on the side for $10. The staff are lovely AND efficient. How many places in Toronto can still say that these days?
Toronto should have more accessible bakeries like this.
Bonus, Bathurst station always smells great because of the bakery.

PS the goat patties are fabulous.
Thank you to Bakery on the Go for all your hardwork and service all these years 🙏

Why did you guys change the recipe on the beef patties. Please change it back.

It was much better when I was a kid. I feel like the recipes have changed. Very dry, hard, and the cheese cream on the cheese danish was like slime.

I’ve eaten here twice. Both of the times, I had the worst experience. On the first day, I tried samosa and patties (I don’t remember the exact name) and the other day I tried cinnamon roll. Both of the days the food smells like old, used, burnt oil. And afterwards, I had a heartburn! Both of the times, I couldn’t finish the food. For the first day, I thought it might be a random incident. So, I gave it another shot. But definitely, it has failed the next time too.

On the other note, the behaviour of the mid-aged saleslady was rude and arrogant. I ask her the difference between two desert items, about which I was confused. On her reply she said “I don’t know. I haven’t eat them” and she force me to order and pay as quickly as I could. Unprofessional customer service and low-quality food.

This bakery is a passed down hidden gem from my mom when my sibling and I were really young. The patties have never disappointed and the kindness/service has never failed. Definitely a must-try if you’re heading downtown or in the area.

Bread, patties are great. To my surprise, Coffee ☕️ is really good. Great people and merchandise. Excellent subway stop, perfect breakfast break.

Picked up goat patties today from Bakery On The Go, and I never knew they were a thing! Amazingly delicious for $3.25! They also have beef patties for $2.75. The service was speedy, handled by a friendly 3-person team, with many other fresh coffee and goodies for sale. You should know, this place is inside Bathurst subway station, so you have to pay TTC fare to reach it, unless you are already traveling on the Bloor subway line, make sure to stop here.

Usually I have the Jamaican patties here and they're good, but the time I had the beef empanada and it ripped through me like a brown tornado. That thing must have been rancid.

What happened to the sale of classic beef patties at this bakery?! The version that is sold is not worthy to be called “A beef patty” I am Jamaican decent and although the last versions decades before weren’t authentic handmade Jamaican beef patties at least they were the next best thing. The version sold now should not be sold as a generic beef patty. Re advertise that as something else to the community it truly comes from. Even google has it listed here that it represents a Jamaican beef patty ( per food recommendations) which it is not.
