I enjoy their regular coffees, iced coffees, and teas. The sweet pastries look amazing, but I try to avoid sugar. I like their egg sandwiches with cheese and bacon or vegetables, and their savoury brioche buns. The indoor is spacious, and even has a small bookshelf with picture books for children. There is also a big community message board for anyone to use. The outdoor patio is nice. They’re very helpful with drink accommodations here, and you can use any type of milk at no extra cost (almond, coconut, soy, etc.) and customize your sweetener level. I found the seasonal latte to be too sweet, but you can add your own syrup too.

good local spot. mostly friendly staff who work fast. place can get busy with no spots to sit. pastry selection is either a hit or miss. breakfast sandwiches outsourced and only the veggie and bacon go hard, sausage is mid. drinks are ok depending on what you get. price really adds up considering their value. matcha again hit or miss depends on who makes it.

Balzac’s Powerhouse is nestled away on a side street and really gives off a great community feeling. You’ll see customers on computers, having conversations, and even though there is constant goings, it’s quiet and relaxing. The coffee is always on par - I recommend trying the Nordic Coffee (they recently renamed it the Honey Cardamon Latte). And their scones are delicious!

This is such a cool coffee shop that I stumbled upon while in the neighbourhood! It’s in an old powerhouse and the space is beautiful with tall ceilings and wooden tables. There’s lots of seating both inside and outside, and the staff are very friendly.

Would recommend this place for delicious coffee and friendly staff! However, not for food or a quick bite. At the counter, I ordered a bagel with cream cheese to-go and was disappointed when I opened the bag to a barely toasted bagel and cream cheese on the side that I had to spread on myself. Not convenient for a quick bite before work or when commuting. For $4.25 I wouldn’t expect to prepare my bagel myself, especially for a to-go order.
