I printed something here and the lady at the front desk was very helpful. I didn’t even have a library card but she helped make sure I could print.
The hot chocolates are great! The atmosphere is nice too.

I went to Balzac’s with my wife and we enjoyed the experience. The coffee was good, and the atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. A nice place to sit, talk, and enjoy a quiet coffee together.
A bit overpriced

Great coffee, but it’s usually crowded and pretty noisy, so it’s better to grab your coffee on the run.

I really enjoyed my visit here. The dessert items were really tasty and not too sweet. I started with the apple crumble tart and it was so delicious that I had to try their lemon tart as well, which I did, and was equally impressed. Their coffee is great too. I had the maple latte to start and then had to try their salted caramel latte. Both were fantastic and neither one had that crude coffee after taste that you can get from cheaper coffee blends. I was wery happy for the price to value ratio as well. Finally, their service was prompt and they have table service for clean-up as well, which is always nice even though I cleaned the table I sat at before I left. Thank you for a great experience Balzac's!

I feel like a fool for going to Starbucks all these years, having to deal with overly entitled employees. In this coffee shop, not only is the coffee great, but the employees give the store a really smooth vibe. They are pleasant and professional.

100% vibes!
The music is aesthetic!
The staff is chill!
The beverages…….(no words)
The part where my heart was warmed was when I saw the historical artifacts of Balzac’s!

Cafe at the floor of the library. Good options. I just ordered a lactose free cortado.

This was honestly the worst oat milk-based matcha latte I’ve ever had. Imagine paying $8 for a drink and all you can taste is burnt milk. It couldn’t have been worse.
The barista made it right in front of me. They used a tiny amount of matcha (almost invisible) and mixed it with way too much water. Then they poured in poorly steamed milk and just handed it to me.
After a while, since I couldn’t drink it, I politely asked if they could maybe fix it, but the only thing I got in return was an arrogant attitude from the barista.
Honestly, it’s shocking that a well-known coffee chain in Toronto can’t even make a proper matcha latte.

A jewel amongst the coffee places around here. Great vibe and awesome service. Lattes are always fantastic. Hitting the right spot. But lately I’ve been getting the salted caramel one. Delicious!!
