Great food, friendly and attentive service, and a more refined setting compared to most Indian restaurants downtown. Our server was incredibly engaged, taking us through the menu and offering thoughtful recommendations.
We ordered from the à la carte menu and particularly enjoyed the lahsuni palak paneer; the homemade cheese in the nutty sauce was delicious. The keema pao was flavourful, though the buns could have been softer and fresher, and the laal goscht was tasty, though the oxtail could have used a bit more meat.
While the food was delicious overall, we found the drinks (the entire beverage menu) and sides (naan and rice) to be overpriced, which inflated the overall bill. That aside, it’s a great spot for a special meal, especially if you’re looking for unique dishes and a more upscale experience.

Overall, good experience and food. Did the lunch special where you could choose 3 items. The butter chicken was very salty though so it was hard to eat

Memorable lunch as we wound down the year on Dec 31. Every dish was unique in its own special way. Can’t wait to return. Lunch set menu at $35 was an outstanding deal.
Vegetarian options: Absolutely

Very small portion perfect for presentation to be in Michelins list purely for presentation but food is not that great specially if you have tried authentic food from Goa or India. Moreover, it’s not worth the price or the hype.
Items such as Lobster Seekh kabab was out of stock, specially during festive season though there was not mention upfront. Furthermore, Chicken pepper fry kulcha tacos were served where oil was dripping all over and felt
as if I’m eating street quality food, too bad. Such mention was missing in the a la carte menu card. Felt as if I am consuming oil only.
Butter chicken taste was ‘okay’ due to gravy but it was highlighted that chicken is cooked in tandoor clay. After eating it was normal chicken cubes with no proper tandoor taste in the meat.
Malai Paneer tikka is bland in taste. No whatsoever taste in this dish.
Overall bad experience and not worth the name in Michelins guide recommendations list

Turned away at the door because they had a special event.
This was after confirming by a phone call earlier in the day asking if they were open for dinner.
For our anniversary, we decided to indulge in a special dining experience at Bar Goa, and it exceeded every expectation. This Michelin-starred gem offered more than just a meal; it was a sensory journey.
The food was nothing short of exceptional. Each dish was a perfect balance of flavors, meticulously crafted and presented like art on a plate. Every bite told a story—of rich culinary heritage intertwined with innovative twists. It was delicious, memorable, and a true experience for the palate.
The service was impeccable. The staff was attentive yet unobtrusive, guiding us through the menu with genuine enthusiasm and offering thoughtful recommendations. Their warmth and helpfulness added to the charm of the evening.
The ambience was equally remarkable. With soft lighting, elegant décor, and a soothing vibe, it created an intimate and romantic atmosphere, perfect for a celebratory occasion like ours.
Bar Goa is not just a restaurant; it’s a celebration of fine dining at its best. It left us with lasting memories and a promise to return. If you're looking for a place to mark a special day or simply want to treat yourself to an extraordinary meal, this is the place to be!

Really enjoyed our anniversary celebration at BarGoa. Shashank, Abhishek and Smeet ensured we had a great time. The food is delicious, especially the prawn on Japanese toast and the chicken stuffed tacos desi style. Definitely be back to try out other dishes. Recommend.

Very glad to have found a Michelin recommended Indian restaurant.
Wife and I decided to celebrate our anniversary here, and we chose to have the 7-course Omakase dinner.
I won't go into the details of the 7-course, except it was worth every single $. Our server was perfect in explaining our food options, our drink queries, and their 'secret drink menu'! Highly recommend the 'Cherry Blossom' drink to start off your Omakase marathon.
Extra points to our server (Dec 18 around 7:30, props to him for enhancing our experience and anniversary dinner!)

We went for a special occasion and received hospital service and outstanding food. The place has a more trendy than homey vibe but service is old-fashioned friendly and helpful. We took the tasting menu and were warned it might be too much food (an odd piece of seemingly helpful advice - that turned out not to be true). It was just about enough, as the first few courses were small, with one main course with a rotating vegetarian or meat dish. Ours was palak paneer which was delicious as was the lentils that came with it. The other courses were inventive, like a mushroom patty served alongside a mushroom-infused tea, and another that came with a beer pairing. Prices were reasonable, and in the end, our meal was comped due to an anonymous benefactor so it was a real pleasant surprise.

Met friends for our annual winter dinner. We were a party of 6 and before I say anything, I need to take responsibility for 2 of our party being 20 minutes late for an 8:30 reservation.
To begin, the food was delicious and cooked perfectly. Flavours were well balanced for the most part and it was all very fresh.
The service on the other hand was questionable. It started out fine with our waiter explaining everything to us- we ordered 2 drinks from the “secret” cocktail menu-!which kind of just feels like no one could be bothered to type it out. Drinks were fine.
At 9:00 we were told by our waiter that this was the absolute last time that we could order the tasting menu if we wanted it- we had all planned on that and we wanted the drink pairing. So we called our late party and they confirmed that they were also in for the tasting with drinks. We confirmed with the server.
All of a sudden food started to rapid fire arrive at the table. Our last party of 2 arrived so we were saying our hellos and getting seated again. Then another course had arrived- we hadn’t even touched the first one and none of the accompanying drinks had appeared. This is how the meal continued until we finally asked the waiter to slow down as we weren’t really given the opportunity to enjoy anything. It was literally a rapid fire tasting menu. The course before the main course was a prawn toast that was super spicy and completely of blew out our palates for the main course. I love spicy food but this was not appropriate for a multi course meal. 2 people were offered a mini mango lassi to cool their mouths down- this should have been offered to the entire party as a palate cleanser to prepare for the main course.
Main course was delicious and the basmati rice was perfectly cooked- beautifully fluffy. Naan bread was delicious and fresh.
We watched the entire kitchen staff leave for the night at about 10:00 and noticed that our desserts were already plated and sitting on a counter.
The sparkling water fill ups were fast and plentiful- but be aware that you are charged by the bottle- I understand how it works but the filling was total overkill. It’s a crummy way to run up someone’s bill.
Dessert came and the chocolate cake was warm and mushy, cheesecake was tasty but the berry coulis had formed a matte skin because of how long it sat. We were not offered coffee or espresso with dessert. We were informed by our server that the restaurant closed at 10:30. I have spent many years in the service industry and restaurants close when the dining room is empty.
This restaurant has been recognized by Michelin Star so my expectations were substantially higher than the experience we received. It was disappointing- we could see that our server was irritated and that seemed to set the tone for the night.
My suggestion to anyone planning to go to Bar Goa is to book an early reservation to avoid the restaurant closing and feeling like you are being kicked out. We paid $500 for 2 of us which would have been fine ordinarily but this felt excessive for the service we received. Also important to mention that the bills were presented to us with a 20% gratuity included. Do not expect a Michelin style dining experience service from Bar Goa- they just don’t have it.

What a memorable meal.
Bar Goa truly lives up to it's 🌟. It wasn't just having a great dinner but it was an experience of having one of the best meal that Toronto has to offer. Right from the Mango Fizz, the Paneer and Chicken Tikkas to the Daal and Butter Chicken. It was melting in the mouth bite by bite.
And the Chocolate Raspberry Mousse was just sumptuous .Truly unforgettable.
We were in Toronto for Willy Wonka’s musical and thought of visiting this restaurant and what a right decision it was. From start to end the service was on point, ambience.. the server helped us what to order which guided to order some amazing dishes.. their paneer malai tikka, chicken tikka, dalmakhani, butter chicken, chur chut paratha, naan, and the amazing desert to end with. The cocktails we ordered were very refreshing as well.

The place is very cute and aesthetically done. Super hard to find as they have 3 doors n Google is not configured to bring you to the right one. After walking around 40 mins to get here, their menu has 2 goan dishes out of all their options... My bad, I saw the name and pictures and expected bare minimum of goan cuisine... Boy, was I wrong. Call yourself an Indian restaurant and serve this, great. Not a goan restaurant and this menu with literally nothing from Goa. Very disappointing n totally not worth the effort.
