Miles was an incredibly attentive, polite, and accommodating server. He helped us select a collection of inspiring eats and drinks for the table. We had a complete and utter Blast at Bar Mordecai. Planning to visit again soon! :)

Great location for a drink, good music and nice decors inside (just a little too dark). Good service.

If you have only one day in Toronto, make Mordecai a priority. And if you have the luxury of more time in the city, do yourself a favour and visit them more than once.
A special shoutout to Emily, whose impeccable service elevated the entire experience. Thank you!!!

Went out with a group of friends, ordered tons of food and drinks, only to be rushed and pushed out of our table. They should really remind customers about the two-hour limit at check-in, or at least mention it when we order more food and drinks. What started as a fun, positive evening ended on a sour note.

Good service/ vibes for birthday parties, however the OVERALL atmosphere is definitely odd, it’s very dark and there is no dance floor. It tailors also to an older crowd around 25+. Service is good, however for its quality of food/ drinks it is overpriced.

We recently had a party in one of the Karaoke rooms and our host was Andrew K. We were a super rumbustious group (but in a good way) and Andrew always matched our energy. Even tho we could be slightly annoying yelling Andrew Andrew Andrew!!! everytime he walked into the room, Andrew always remained graceful and attentive! He even gave me a chocolate bar since it was my birthday and the kitchen was closed!
Would highly recommend this place and your staff is amazing!!! Thank you Andrew!!!

We went to Bar Mordecai for karaoke with a group of 12 to celebrate my birthday, and it was such a great experience! The space was super fun for a group night out (we had the large karaoke room called Vegas). There was a technical issue with the karaoke system at the beginning, but the staff handled it so well, they were quick to troubleshoot, and one of the owners even came in personally to help get it sorted.
Our server was also amazing.. friendly, patient, and made sure we had everything we needed all night. Once the system was back up, we had an absolute blast.
Huge thanks to the team at Bar Mordecai for turning what could’ve been a hiccup into such a memorable birthday celebration!
Great ambience! Wed free karaoke for an hour!

My friend decided to book a karaoke room for her birthday party. Took days and lots of back and forth just to secure a booking. The day we went it was literally empty. We were the only people there! I don’t understand why was it such a headache to book with them when they aren’t even busy.
The food was good but they charge a minimum spend of $45 per person. You’re bound to go over that amount since no food or drink is exactly priced at $45. They also charged extra $60 simply because we wanted to cut a cake after spending almost 3k. They also never specified that we couldn’t bring any hard liquor and we wasted two bottles of vodka and gin that we were willing to pay an extra $35 for per bottle and ended up having to purchase shots additionally which REALLY racked up the bill.
They knew that we were hosting a birthday party, but were not notified any rules or restrictions about not allowed balloons into the restaurant as well as sparkler candles for the cake, that we lugged all the way downtown from markham. They wouldn’t even let us take photos with the balloons in the lobby area so that was another waste of money.
They also did not specify when their kitchen was closing right off the bat and many people got carried away with singing since we thought we’d have the opportunity to sit and dine on a big table so everyone was still hungry after the party.
With all their money hungry rules, we went way overbudget of originally 2k! With spending almost close to 3k, you’d expect better service from them. But it seems like they’re just money hungry and want a cash grab from anyone who just wants to have a party. Not worth it. You’d be better off hosting a birthday somewhere else.

Great place to hang out with the girlies. Affordable cocktail drinks which are very unique. I just wish they would lessen the ice on some of the drinks they offer. The bar is very pretty too but it’s a bit dark inside which I believe is the mood they are going for with the candles they have around. I’ll likely come back to try other things on the menu.
Fancy loved it

We went for birthday party last night....set menu $65 per person....little did we know we were sharing the set menu between 4 people even though we each had a menu. Food came out very late, no time to drink or party...one lamb shank for 4 people? One pilau rice on a saucer size plate for 4 people? First 4 courses are veggie...how is this $65 per person? Resos for 9pm chicken came out 11pm. Left with a feeling of being scammed and not satisfied. Lighting was so dark couldn't see the food. What has happened to Toronto dining and night life? We are being taken advantage of...
