Awesome place for drinks. Never experienced anything like this. A high tender for an elevated drinks experience. The chef is literally making magic! The food is good but not on the me level of the drinks. Everyone must try this once in their lifetime.

I think I will come back again. The drinks menu is great and the place has perfect lighting and offers a quiet, cozy spot to have a nice conversation.
I went to compton ave previously so my expectations were high. Honestly it was a bummer. The prices are ok but our drinks were very sweet and underwhelming. We wanted food but the server didn't come back. By the time she did we just got the check and left. I was so excited because of the affiliation with drink masters but it didn't live up to the hype. I will try prequel but barchef isn't nearly as good as compton ave.

absolutely next level fine dining mixology! drinks were insanely layered, aromatic, and complex😮💨 immersed in your own tiny world electrifying all senses. the smell inside these tiny bowls, alternating between sips and bites brought out magical notes. finished off the experience with a toasted old fashion and a key lime how can the key lime be SO good?!?
I have been coming to BarChef for many years, and this is the first time I have something negative to say about my experience. I made a reservation on OpenTable for 5:30 PM on a Friday. By 7:00 PM, just 90 minutes into our visit, the server was putting considerable pressure on us to wrap up and leave. She informed us it was “last call” for our reservation time, dropped the bill on the table without our request, and began clearing our plates before we were finished. Every other visit I've had here over the years was exceptional. The service was consistently the best of anywhere I'd been in the city. I can understand they're managing reservations and trying to do their jobs, but the execution here was deeply uncomfortable. The cherry on top: at 7:30 PM she brought the payment machine, explaining that the next reservation was waiting. Being rushed out in this manner, particularly at a bar of this caliber with premium pricing, made for an awkward and disappointing evening with my guest. I'm genuinely saddened to say I will likely not return to what was once one of my favorite establishments. This simply isn't the level of service I expect from BarChef.
Absolutely ridiculous. The drinks are astonishing and beautifully crafted. You can tell that everybody that works here really cares about their job and what they are contributing to the greater picture. I cannot wait to come back.
I do have to say though, that the theatrics of the beverages disguised the beverage itself and in my opinion, didn't match very well.

The atmosphere, service, and modernist cocktails were all amazing. The attention to detail in every drink and the overall vibe made for such a unique experience — definitely one of the best cocktail bars in the city.
One of the best cocktails I’ve ever had in my life.
Rebecca was exception. My mind is blown.

Our first attempt at going to BarChef failed because they had a private function on. Undeterred, we got organised and made a booking for a couple of days later. So glad we persevered! Decor was stunning. Service was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. We had a couple of cocktails each and they were all excellent. We shared several small plates and could not fault a single thing! Wagyu Gyoza Dumplings, in particular, were to die for (we had to get a second helping, they were that good.)

Definitely met expectations all around. The sliders, lobster rolls and fries were amazing! The cocktails were such an experience. I will definitely be back when I'm in Toronto.
