Such a great karaoke spot! Had my birthday party there and grape juice after dark was a phenomenal room for Karaoke for about 17 people. Owners and managers are transparent, cooperative and communicative. Had a great time

Can’t say enough good things about Bathurst Local. The best people, best karaoke, best wine/sake and food (when available!) - we are so lucky to have Glenn + Anna and everyone should come here all the time.

What's it like at Bathurst Local? The better question might be: What's a relationship?

When I first found Bathurst Local eleven years ago, I was a rowdy single twenty-something, and it was the perfect place to bring a date: a quiet, gentle, intimate bar where a wise man named Glenn and his partner Anna were posted up with the best and most reasonable whisky and cocktail list in the city, and a mission to curate a vibe where you could have a nice conversation at any of its rec-room-style tables. It quickly became My Place, and Glenn and Anna's steadfast friendliness through the years made me feel validated for doing so. One first date I took there would eventually become my wife, in fact; to this day, she makes fun of me because she thought I spent too much of the date chatting with Glenn, the Platonic ideal of a barkeep.

Then, when the pandemic struck and bars were hit particularly hard, G+A rightly refused to take it sitting down, while still staying in keeping with their brand of warmth and style and deep booze expertise. They crushed it there, too, by opening more seating, then a natural-wine and sake bottle shop, then karaoke private rooms. They built things up and out of that little space with the command-central bar, and dropped the cocktail list along the way -- I lost my beloved Stay Gold -- but of course that happened. In this life, nothing gold can stay, nor should it.

Today, even in my dotage, BL remains all the things I want it to be. On weekends, I get to do raucous YouTube karaoke with my friends in what are certainly the nicest rooms in the city (and the fanciest drinks, too). On weeknights, it's still My Place, the intimate bar with the pitch-perfect vibe. And what has stayed gold through all the change are the two dervishes at the heart of it, who have always run the whole ship all by themselves and care so much about their place and their people.

Anyway, this is all obviously way too much to have written for a Google review. But I should answer my earlier question: what's a relationship? It's something that's there for you, as each of you changes through the years, and carries you along the way. And that's what it's like at Bathurst Local.

I never have a bad time here. Infinite selection with the YouTube. Homey vibes. Glenn. Can sing for hours here with friends and I most certainly have.

I went to Bathurst local tonight and I had a horrible experience. To start the server Glen failed to acknowledge that I had an existing reservation. Upon arrival, he made me wait an extra 10 minutes to prepare a room ready for my friends and I. After already showing him proof of payment. He was very dismissive with any further questions I had. I would NOT recommend this place

Great place to have drink with some friends there is different areas which makes each section quieter so you can hear everyone talking in your group.

Celebrated my birthday here by booking out the largest karaoke room. It felt like I was at a house party with the benefit of having drinks being served. A lovely selection available!

Came here for a birthday celebration and had an absolute blast. The karaoke was YouTube based but because of that we were able to choose whatever we wanted. The room itself was such a vibe. Food was limited to fries, a burger and a hot dog but the burger was one of the best I've had. Would definitely go back

Charging $16 (starting) for a 5oz glass of wine and straight up not offering service (you have to order it at the bar and take it to your seat 3 rooms away in this converted house) is straight up unacceptable behaviour.

And you know they're probably gonna dare to ask for a minimum 18% tip for the lack of service once they hand you that card machine.

If you're too cheap or lazy to have servers in a wine bar and lounge, perhaps your prices should reflect this.

Best low-key speakeasy. Always have special imported goods and spirits. Food to match.

Me and Buddy are visiting Toronto, after being shio down, cause a tap house was closed for private event. I googled beer, and Bathurst popped up. It's dark, doesn't look open, don't be fooled, pull on handle, he's open. Glen greeted us, and said I don't have many beers, 3 cans. Me and my buddy both took the Pilsner. It doesn't look like much, but Glen is a super knowledgeable guy, told us breweries to go visit before we leave, told us about how he runs his business, and he grew up in the neighborhood. Really made our experience personal, and if I'm ever back in the neighborhood, I'll be popping in to thank him.

A (not so) hidden gem in Toronto. Best wine bar, best burgers, and best karaoke in the city. What more could you want?

If you know, you know. Just come in and have fun. It's that simple.
