Even my health-obsessed boyfriend didn’t lecture me while eating this. Magic?

Not life-changing, but consistently tasty. And honestly, that’s all I need.
IF YOU DONT WANT YOUR DAY TO BE RUINED, JUST AVOID THIS BBQ CHICKEN AT ALL COST.
The female sever/hostess at the front is the rudest and most disrespectful and entitled person I’ve ever met in customer service. My friend made a reservation for 8pm last night for his birthday. When arrived at the restaurant (exactly on time) and asked for our table, we were met with hostility by hostess instantly. No hellos or welcomes, just “I CALLED YOU TEN TIMES, WHY DIDNT YOU PICK UP MY CALLS?” Since my boyfriend and I were not the person who made the reservation we were very confused and taken aback by the encounter. We later found out that she has attempted to called our friend multiple times throughout the day to confirm our reservation. But since our friend was at CNE, he did not realize the restaurant had called due to the overstimulating environment and bad signals.
Eventually, she (very unwillingly) brought us to the table after we had explained to her that we weren’t the person who she was calling. When the rest of the party arrived in about 4 minutes later, they were also met with hostility and she even called my friend in front of us to confirm that it was a working number. At this point we were feeling very uncomfortable with the interactions and we decided leave the restaurant. While we were deciding on where we should go next, the hostess chase out the door to confront us that “we made the reservation, why are we leaving now”. While we tried to explain to her that the interaction between our entire group as been very unpleasant and we do not feel comfortable continuing dining in the restaurant, she persisted to invade our personal space and was not taking no as an answer. At no point were we being disrespectful to her for her to display such hostile behaviour towards us.
This is singlehanded the most terrifying moment I’ve ever experienced with a sever and I will never be setting foot in this restaurant again.

I love getting disrespected while eating my fried chicken. Eating here really gives you the authentic Asian household experience. Makes it feel like home. 😍😍
As many others before me have mentioned, some employees here display unacceptable behaviour for a restaurant. I would think twice before dining here. There are many other restaurants in the area that you can support that would actually treat you with respect and serve you delicious food.

In all my years of eating out in Toronto, I’ve never experienced a more rude, arrogant, and entitled hostess as the one last night. We had made a reservation for 8 for my friends birthday. My friend had missed her calls confirming the reservation, but we had arrived on time. Upon arriving she proceeded to berate us for not picking up her calls, and proceeded to call my friends phone in front of us to prove a point. After all that, she still expected us to dine there???
We decided to leave and she chased us out asking what our problem was, and we explained we no longer felt welcome eating there. We took our business to Nene chicken and had a great time there.
To customers: If you’re thinking of dining here, I suggest you reconsider unless you enjoy being yelled at. Take a good look at the recent reviews and the owners responses and you’ll learn more about how this establishment is run, how they treat customers, and how they treat delivery drivers
To the owner: threaten with legal action all you want. You won’t win. If you threaten us with CCTV footage it’ll only show you chasing us out. I will be issuing a formal complaint with BBQ Chicken Canada to report this directly to upper management.

Coming from a family of small business owners, I understand the importance of treating your customers with respect and kindness. From the moment my group walked in here, we were berated and disrespected.
They tried to call us multiple times during the day, but because we weren’t able to see or receive them as we were out the whole day. We apologized to the front staff, but she kept arguing that we were driving away business because of this. The more we tried to work it out, the more hostile and rude she became. It got to a point where we felt so uncomfortable being in the restaurant that we left, but she followed us outside to continue arguing.
The attitude she gave us throughout the entire conversation was unacceptable. How do you except us to go inside and eat at your establishment when all you’ve been is rude and unwelcoming? We understand her situation as a business and apologized, but she was not understanding of our situation and was almost yelling at us for inconveniencing her.
My group has never been this disrespected and are baffled that this even happened, I cannot support a business that condones this type of behaviour. Don’t be surprised that people are writing these REAL reviews based on their REAL experiences, and how it affects your business and employees.
TLDR: The waitress is openly hostile, extremely rude, disrespectful and unprofessional. Worst restaurant experience i’ve ever had
We visited bb.q Chicken East Liberty on Sunday, Aug 31st with a reservation at 8 PM. What should have been a fun birthday dinner quickly turned into one of the worst dining experiences of my life because of the waitress’s behavior. As a frequent Korean fried chicken consumer who has been to different brands (Chicken Plus, NeNe, and other bb.q chicken locations in Vaughan, Scarborough, Elm street in Toronto), I have never had such a horrible experience until today.
I arrived at 8 PM and the rest of the group joined at 8:05 PM from CNE. The restaurant was nearly empty when I arrived. The waitress was hostile and rude to me. She was yelling at me and claimed that she had called the person (birthday boy) who made the reservation multiple times and that we had to call the restaurant to confirm our reservation because it was a holiday. As someone who grew up in the GTA and has dined at countless restaurants, I was confused as I have NEVER had to confirm a reservation this way as it is certainly not the norm.
When the rest of our group arrived, the waitress continued to be hostile, yelling and singling out the person (birthday boy) who made the reservation and demanded to know why he did not answer her phone call. Turns out throughout the day, the waitress called him 6 times from an unmarked number between 4 PM until the reservation. The phone service was not the greatest at CNE but she refused to accept that he hadn’t picked up his phone. She even called him again in front of us to prove her point. Despite our apologies, she rolled her eyes, sighed loudly, and continued raising her voice. At that point, we no longer felt welcome and decided to leave.
Shockingly, it didn’t end there. We were outside and she followed us from the restaurant and yelled at us while stepping uncomfortably close into our personal space to intimidate us. You can check the CCTV footage of her behaviour as it speaks for itself. She was questioning why we are not eating there anymore and demanded that we eat there since we made a reservation. She felt entitled to our business. After our initial interaction when we arrived at the restaurant, who would want to eat and support a business that has such hostile service? She also claimed she had turned away customers because of us, despite calling earlier in the day at 4 PM for an 8 PM booking. Why would anyone be turned away for a reservation four hours later? Who eats fried chicken for four hours straight? This was clearly mismanagement. Meanwhile, there were three dirty tables inside, one seated group, and multiple Uber drivers waiting for pickup orders. Instead of managing the restaurant, she chose to chase us outside to berate us further.
I’ve worked in customer service and always try to empathize with staff. At no point was she professional. She was aggressive and hostile from the moment we entered. Recent reviews show many customers that have had a similar experience with her. When so many people report the same thing, it’s no longer an isolated incident. It’s a clear pattern that the waitress is the cause of negative reviews and horrible restaurant experiences. For every review written, there are likely others who had experienced the same thing and quietly chose not to return.
To potential customers: If you value being treated with basic respect, avoid this location.
To the owner: You have someone on your team who is actively driving customers away and sabotaging your business. High ratings won’t last if they’re propped up by bribes (like free cheese balls for 5-star reviews) while genuine feedback goes ignored.
I will never set foot in this restaurant again and will reconsider ever dining with bb.q Chicken as a brand.
Do better.

The women working evening shift Sunday Aug 31st NEEDS TO BE FIRED ASAP! Yesterday was my second time here. The first experience was great but last night was so bad I will not return while she is employed there. We arrived around 8pm and the restaurant was empty. Just one customer eating in the corner. The gentleman at the front seated us (he was out server the last time and he was amazing both visits). We waited about 20 min before getting up to ask the gentleman if someone can take our order he sent the woman over. As it's only our second time there we had some questions about some of the dishes. She seemed annoyed with every question to the extent I asked her if everything was ok. I know how hard a servers job can be so I prefer to lead with empathy when experiencing bad customer service. She ignored the question and continued with her attitude so we stopped asking about other flavors and we each ordered what we got last time. When the food arrived the other two orders were as expected but the third order had a pile of dry uncooked seasoning on the top of the chicken. I tried to knock it off but I couldn't even get thru one piece. I took the basket back to show her and she immediately got angry. She snapped back, it's supposed to be that way. I let her know I've been here before, that I ordered this last time it is not supposed to be this way. I opened the menu and showed her the pic and description and then showed her my pic from last time. I said if someone spilled dry seasoning on top it's not that serious, make me a new one and I won't even complain about the inconvenience or my time being wasted. She said no we can't make a new one now so I told her fine just take it off my bill. She grabbed the basket from my hand, walked past me back to my table and then threw the basket down. She yelled no, you are not returning and stormed off. We were all silent just staring at each other stunned. Never in my life!! The gentleman came rushing over and apologized. He took the basket back and brought us our bill without that item. He explained they had a large group reserve and they turned down many people only for the large group to show up and decide to go elsewhere so the servers lost out on a lot of tip money that evening. No matter what's going on in your life it's unacceptable to talk to any human being so rude. I will never eat here again while she's still employed there.

Absolutely horrible service. The front desk lady is rude, disrespectful, and even used abusive language toward me. Totally unprofessional. Avoid this place at all costs.
If I could give zero stars to BBQ Chicken, I absolutely would. The lady at the front desk is hands down one of the rudest and most unprofessional people I’ve ever come across in a restaurant. She has no manners, no patience, and no respect for customers whatsoever. Her tone was arrogant, her attitude was disgusting, and instead of helping, she went out of her way to be insulting.
To make it even worse, she used abusive language toward me — completely unacceptable behavior in any business. It was shocking and disrespectful, and it instantly ruined the entire experience. Honestly, it felt like she has no interest in her job other than pushing people away.
This kind of treatment is not just bad service, it’s humiliating for customers and damaging to the restaurant’s reputation. If the owner does not deal with this immediately, they’re going to lose customers left and right.
I will never return here, and I strongly urge others not to waste their time or money. There are plenty of restaurants out there that actually know how to treat people with basic respect — this is not one of them
Thanks

Worst lady at front no manners how to talk with customer so rude
Zero stars if I could. The woman at the front is unbelievably rude, arrogant, and even used abusive language toward me. Completely unprofessional and disrespectful — she should not be dealing with customers at all. Don’t waste your time here; there are far better places that actually value their customers.
