I've tried this place 2 or 3 times because it's close by (I've only had their sweet baked goods so can't speak to drinks, bread or anything savoury), and I'm consistently underwhelmed. Items are pricey which would be fine if the quality was better. Tiramisu was noticeably dry and had kind of a stale texture. I think I'm going to give up!
The bread (all varieties of sourdough) is outstanding. It’s a bit more expensive than Blackbird and not quite as large, but I count myself lucky to live close to somewhere that can produce reliably delicious sourdough. I don’t have much experience with the other products except the croissants and natas which are solid. I’m happy that they finally accept cash. I find the tip prompt when buying a loaf of bread with a card somewhat infuriating but I think it may be a result...
I went in to pick up a fresh-made sandwich. The server said that they don't make sandwiches 30 minutes before closing. I looked at my phone - it was exactly 5:30. In that moment I understood that the server had already cleaned her food prep area and was not going to tidy up again. I left empty-handed and I'm not going back.
