Awesome sushi
We visited by chance when passing by on our way back to our hotel from AGO. The service was fine, prompt and friendly and the sushi was ok. Not spectacular though inexpensive (by UK standards) and there was plenty of it. Good vegetarian selection. Not the best sushi in Toronto I'm sure though edible and reasonable value.
i ordered two rolls to go, one spicy salmon and the second salmon tempura. rolls are just packed with rice need microscope to see the salmon on the first roll. the second roll was canned salmon( disgusting). No soy sauce given, so had few pieces and tossed it in the garbage. I do not recommend this place at all.
Went to the restaurant today for all you can eat for $21.99. it's a small place and only a few people working. Apparently that's not enough to serve less than a full house. After ordering, the food took forever to come out. The server was overworked and just didn't care. We didn't get water and had to ask for basic things. The sushi roll size was regular size, not the small size you'd see at all you can eat so that was nice. However, all the food was very haphazardly put together. The sashimi was chunky and did not taste very fresh. The meat, fried rice, and even salad tasted stale and felt off. The calamari still had raw dough, the sushi rice was hard, and the tamago was dry. Our order took so long to come, we got less than half our first list of orders and had enough. We got our bill - the only thing that came right away. I even heard the table beside us having to tell the waitress what they had and explain what they needed to pay for. We had a terrible experience here. There was probably only business because it was a holiday weekend.
This is one of the many choices on Dundas between Bay and University. Décor: Nothing special, smallish place. Service: Fairly prompt, but not very warm. Food: As an all you can eat joint, similar to the rest, the food is really not great quality, but is designed to fill you up with lots of starch and goo. Taste is not exquisite like Zen or Shinobu where your meal is a true art with the best ingredients, but it is fast food. That being said, from a value proposition, it was not too bad. Hot items are reasonably made and portion size is good - just not too tasty. Sushi rice is bland, rolls and sushi is filling but blah. Overall: This place is fine if you are hungry and want to be full afterwards for a reasonable price. The regular menu is also a fairly priced choice if you do not want to go into a rice coma.
The food is freshly prepared and the servings are generous and good value for money although they are very fond of deep fried options. It is a small location with few tables and no one is encouraged to linger. The service does leave a little to be desired.
Had the all you can eat here. One of the staff members (old lady) was very rude and bumped into people seemed uninterested and I guess had trouble smiling. Service took about an hour for most items so if you're in a hurry don't choose this place. Food was decent, place was tiny.
We passed by Sushi & Bento on the way to the St Patrick subway station on Dundas to catch the Rogers Cup (ATP tennis) at the Aviva Center. After spending a tiring 6 hours watching the tennis matches, we decided to pick up takeout on the way home. Ordered a couple of the teriyaki chicken bento boxes at $12.95 each. Back at the hotel, we were quite surprised to find a lot food. The boxes consisted of a miso soup, a small salad, 6 large pieces of California roll, 2 pork gyozas, 5 pieces of tempura (2 prawns, 1 piece each of brocolli, sweet potato, & squash), a small scoop of white rice, a large serving of sliced up chicken (the equivalent of 2 thighs). Although we both weren't able to finish eating all of our dinner due to the large volume of food, I would recommend eating at his establishment.
Sushi & Bento is a Japanese place on the south side of Dundas just a block or two east of University. I dropped by on a Saturday just at noon. I was the first customer but in the time I was there it started to fill up quite quickly, which suggests that locals recognize it as a place that combines quality and value. This place is quite small, with perhaps twelve tables. The server was friendly and helpful. There is a broad selection of lunch specials. I chose the Bento Box special with teriyaki salmon ($10.95). This turned out to be an amazingly generous amount of good quality food for a very modest price. It started with the usual cup of miso and a small salad. This was followed by several pieces of sushi, which was quite filling. Then after a few more minutes out came the bento box, which I really enjoyed. It included several nice pieces of flavorful salmon, rice, vegetables, and some other things I’ve forgotten (sorry). Sushi and Bento was a completely random choice on my way back to my hotel, and I’m glad I went in. The rest of the menu looks very interesting, and I’m looking forward to a return visit to try some more choices.

Don't even bother to go there. The staff barely understand english, the attention is miserable and the food its not even good. All of their rolls fall apart, the rice was warm and they forgot about our order. I wanted to go out for a nice and enjoyable experience and ended up being the worst sushi experience.
I ate here once last year for a dinner all you can eat, and their salmon sashimi is bad, very bad. I never smell something from a salmon, but i did smell something from their salmon at this place.
We went to this place for the ACYE lunch buffet for $12.99. It was definitel a good value/deal. The specialty rolls were the best, like Green Dragon and Spicy Dynamite. The avacado was fresh and the rolls were made big and professional. Not sure why people would give this place a bad review, usually with these ACYE sushi establishmetns service is the last priority and is usually bad so just have low expectations in that regard and tip accordingly. But with the food and value this is near the top of my list for ACYE sushi buffets.
I really wasn't that impressed by this sushi shop. It took the server about 15 minutes to just offer us a menu from when we sat down, and they didn't even offer, we had to get up and ask them because they were just ignoring us. Another couple actually came in and left because it was taking too long. Luckily though when we did order the food came out relatively quickly. Unluckily though it wasn't that great. Almost all the rolls contained the bare minimum amount of fish and a ridiculous amount of rice and a drenching of "spicy mayo" on top. It really seems like they try and fill you up on rice so you won't order much more. There are MUCH better AYCE sushi joints in Toronto than this one. That being said, this is probably one of the cheapest ones. I still wouldn't recommend it though.
First of all, this place is called Torch Sushi and Bento (maybe it was renamed, I don't know). The food was quick to come out and very good. The server we had was on top of things and we had no problems ordering and re-ordering since we opted for the all-you-can-eat menu. We didn't do any research beforehand, we were just roaming on foot looking for somewhere to eat, so I'm really glad we ended up here completely satisfied.
