We were really excited to come here to celebrate a birthday on a warm summer night. Things went sideways from the get-go after our server misheard our wine order. He was MIA the rest of the night. Our food took a while to come out- which was fine; it was busy and a nice evening. After it eventually did, one of the wait staff came over several times to repeatedly ask if we were done (food still on the plate), which made dinner feel rushed. When our server finally did reappear at 9:59pm (bill and machine in hand), it was to inform us “I need this table at 10:00pm. You can have dessert at another table by the street or pay.” We used to like coming here, but after that experience, will never go back.

Great tartare! Chicken was soft but just plain. Atmosphere was relaxed and charming. Plating is in trend. 3.5 /5 for me.

Anyone giving this restaurant under 5 stars - different strokes for different folks, there are lots of other dining options in Toronto.
I love it so much here - the swap of seasonal ingredients, the service is always 10/10 and the food is delish. My only complaint is that social media traction is making it impossible to book a reso.

Got a 5pm reso and honestly was great since it wasn’t too too busy! Egg special appetizer was delish, lots of textures going on with the crispy chicken skin, capers, sauce and boiled egg (also I just love eggs so maybe I’m biased). Beef tartare was a bit salty, not the best I’ve had but still solid. I don’t really know if I loved the toast choice. Really enjoyed the carrots and lentils, super flavourful. Chicken was moist and good, just not mind-blowing. Half and half fries/wedges were a good choice, fries were better tho lol. Ice cream was refreshing, not sure how I feel about the olive oil. Service was amazing throughout and never felt rushed. Overall, apps > main!

Cool location tucked into a residential area. Maybe the best chicken I've ever had, very good starters. Ingredients tasted fresh and paired nicely with their wine list. The wine list was interesting but had room for improvement.

Good food done right. Salads were fresh and chicken was flavourful. Not much more you can ask for!

Heard about this restaurant through the grapevine and went on a weeknight and it was still very busy. Ordered a bunch of dishes and of course the chicken. It was all very tasty, but wouldn't say it's the best chicken I've had in my life.

Was a long drive for us, almost an hour to get there on Canada day. We were early and I urgently needed to use the loo. Workers were setting up. Male and female hosts I believe. Asked politely if I could use the washroom. They said no. I figured this must be one of those washrooms are for guests only so I said I have a 5pm reso. They looked at each other and said no. So very unkind and honestly mean. Not a great start to my dining experience. All the servers including bartender seemed utterly miserable. Not one person smiled. Not my kind of place. The food didn’t taste very good after that. Dreyfus, their other restaurant was way better in food and definitely service.

I had a lot of expectations going into this restaurant, and while some things impressed me, others fell a bit flat. The highlight of the meal was definitely the beef tartare which was absolutely a 10/10 . Everything else, unfortunately, was just okay.

I had heard a lot about the chicken and thought it would be the best I’ve ever had. While it was juicy, it didn’t really blow me away. As for sides, I’d recommend skipping the asparagus and the side potatoes, it lacked flavor and was dry.

The service was great, attentive and friendly but because the place is so busy, it felt like they were gently rushing us along to stay within the time limit for our table. We were asked 3 times if we were almost done lol.

All in all, it was nice to try once, but I’m not sure I’d return. Worth the experience, but not necessarily a repeat visit for me.

Came for the chicken, left loving everything else but.
The chicken was fine - but do I think it was any better than elsewhere? No. It wasn't the most flavourful, but the gravy made up for it.
However, the true stars of the meal were everything else. We had peas, asparagus, and beef tartare. Absolutely spectacular.
The staff were great - attentive. Making good recommendations on portion and pairings.
