Ordered haleem for Ramadan. Does not taste like Hyderabadi haleem. It tasted more like Pakistani style haleem you get at Sizzler Kebab. Had the same aroma and almost smelt like beef haleem. As a Hyderabadi, we know that haleem takes hours to cook almost upto 12 hours if making in a stone clay oven. The major work that goes into making haleem what it is, is the hand mashing/ grounding of the strings of meat, which was not done. It seems like they put chunks of meat in pressure cooker with ingredients and called it a day. Haleem must have “reshedar” (fine strings like hair) texture not chunks or thick strands of meat which is what it had. The bite was not mouthful, it was thin in texture. You could clearly feel the meat separate from the “curry”. Haleem must never have separate liquid floating around. It must be one thick blob of meet like clay. So I did my own thing. I made some broken wheat and lentils mixture on my own separately and mashed it. Then, I mixed the haleem I got from this restaurant and got to working. Hand mashing the meat took a lot of elbow grease (almost 30-45 min) so I decided to use a hand blender. It was perfecto. Finally we have something like the texture of haleem we get back home. No separate liquid, if any liquid is allowed in the haleem it is the ghee that’s separated from it after it’s cooked to perfection (see image 2)
If you really want to have Hyderabadi haleem I’d recommend to check out “shah ghouse” on Uber Eats unfortunately they don’t do pickup and delivery is steep 8.49$ to downtown but taste wise it’s definitely worth (It’s likely a kitchen without store front on 264 Markham Rd)
Biryaniwalla- I’d recommend yall to have Haleem at a Hyderabadi persons home or restaurant that serves “Hyderabadi Haleem” and update your recipe. It comes once a year and nothing disappoints you in Ramadan other than Haleem that doesn’t taste like its namesake.
Thank you for trying. A for effort. ♥️ there is room for improvement. Cook it for longer, and break down the meat into fine residue and it will be good.

Overall great taste, I frequently order from here but lately I have observed they do not give enough protein the biryani. Eg, in the ghee roast paneer bucket, it hardly had 10 pieces of paneer. If this can be made better then this would be the best biryani place in GTA.

We recently ordered catering from Biryaniwalla, and it was absolutely phenomenal!
The Ghee Roast Kaju Chicken Biryani was hands down the star of the event — rich, aromatic, perfectly spiced, and loaded with flavor. The balance of ghee roast masala with tender chicken and crunchy kaju was just incredible. Every single guest loved it!
We ordered the large catering tray, and it easily served 14–16 people generously. The portions were great, packaging was neat, and everything arrived fresh and hot.
If you’re looking for catering that will truly impress your guests, this is it. Easily the best biryani in town — highly recommend!

I had a very disappointing experience speaking with Priya over the phone for take out delivery at 1:30am. Her attitude was rude and unprofessional from the beginning; she raised her voice, spoke aggressively, and showed no courtesy or patience while addressing my concern. This kind of behaviour is completely unacceptable from someone representing a business. I expected a respectful and helpful interaction, not to be spoken to in a high-pitched and confrontational tone. The management should seriously review her customer service approach, as such conduct leaves a very negative impression.

I called to place an order and was met with extremely rude and aggressive behavior from Priya over the phone. This experience was completely unprofessional and unacceptable. The responsibility falls on the owners and management to ensure their staff maintain basic respect and professionalism toward customers. I strongly urge management to take immediate action to address this issue and prevent such poor treatment from happening again.
I called to place an order today and spoke with Priya, who was extremely rude and unprofessional. Her tone was aggressive and dismissive throughout the call, making the experience very unpleasant. There’s absolutely no reason for a customer to be spoken to that way. If this is how the staff handles phone orders, it reflects poorly on the entire establishment. I hope management addresses this immediately, as respectful communication is the minimum expectation in customer service.

It’s a crime to have mutton in your menu and NOT serve bone-in mutton biryani. It’s a shame because the bone-in mutton biryani is decent.
Best place for Birani lovers
