Just visited their newly renovated place, and I must say the ambience and vibe are fantastic! Perfect spot to hang out and enjoy some really tasty Indian biryani. Such an amazing find, and the people there make it even better!

I have a favorite spot for butter chicken, and I thought it was the best—until I tried this restaurant’s version. Their butter chicken is very different from the ones I’ve had before. It has a lemony taste, beautiful presentation, and it’s not too spicy. Absolutely perfect when paired with their fresh plain naan! 😋 will definitely go back again

If we go for dine in, they always say that they are close and only take outs. We tried going many times, everytime they find silly reasons or even lie sometimes. Customer service is very very bad. Never saw a restaurant with such poor service .

Excellent Biryani, with more varieties than you can imagine. Other curries, soups and desserts as well. Well worth a visit. Prices are generally under $20 per main, and portions large. Authentic preparation and taste sensation. Enjoy!

Three of us ate dinner at the North York location for the first time yesterday. It was early, about 5:30pm.

The samosa plate (4) was excellent. Large enough and very plump with potatoes and spices. A tamarind sauce accompanying. Very delicious.

We ordered two lamb dishes, a kofta curry and a ghee broiled lamb biryani. Both were wonderful. So rich, with layered flavours and not subtle but not overpowering spices. Also the portion size and amount of meat exceeded expectations.

Certainly the best Indian restaurant we have been to, although we've been to perhaps just six or seven. Service time reflects the care that goes into the preparation of the meals.

Caveat...we ate in and did not order takeout or delivery. Perhaps it's the same either way. Meal for 3 came out to about $60, including and order of samosas to go and a shared dessert. A very good value, with containers to bring home to savour the meal again.

A memorable experience that we would highly recommend.

(Update: 2026, have been back there several times and each time has been memorable. Most recently 3 of us shared a bowl of soup, and two main dishes, lamb biryani and chicken korma, and had leftovers to take home. The flavours were on point, service attentive and quick, and the cost more than fair).

Never go here. Order from DoorDash or Uber. I ordered takeout by phone and had to stay approximately 1 hour in the shop to get my order. After waiting that long, they told me my order had been switched with another and it would take more time. Very disappointed with their service! The shop is not even that clean! Customer satisfaction is nil.

Paneer Palnadu at Briyaniwala was really tasty. The paneer was soft and well-cooked, and the gravy had a nice balance of spices. Portion size was good and served hot. Worth trying for paneer lovers.

Tried Biriyaniwala at North York and was pleasantly surprised. The biryani had good aroma, proper spices, and generous portion size. The rice was flavorful and the meat was cooked well. Service was decent and the place felt clean and casual. Prices are reasonable for the quantity. A solid spot if you’re craving Indian biryani in the Yonge & Lawrence area.
