Lovely place, friendly staff and nice Coffee.
The best tasting coffee in Toronto. During our three-day stay, we tried numerous espresso bars and coffee roasters. But the coffee here tasted the best. It was the perfect daily start for us to head out into the urban jungle. The café is not particularly large, but has plenty of seating. There is a small selection of fresh snacks, e.g. croissants. The waitress was very nice and prepared our coffees (Cappuccino and Latte) quickly and freshly. I personally liked the small cappuccino (8 oz) best. The coffee flavor came out best here. The larger versions had a more dominant milk flavor. My girlfriend, on the other hand, liked the latte better. But one of the things we liked best was that the coffee wasn't served too hot. I don't know why, but most coffees in Toronto and Canada as a whole are served way too hot. As a coffee lover, I don't want the milk to boil. From the very first sip, the cappuccino should taste like coffee and have a rounded taste. I don't want to burn my tongue in the process. Overheating the milk significantly impairs the taste. If you prepare a coffee drink from milk, you can no longer enjoy the fine aromas of the coffee because the milk is too hot. All in all, Black Bear Espresso has done a good job.

I will go to my grave saying that Black Bear Espresso is one of the best places to get coffee in Toronto. Typically I prefer to grab my order and go, however if you’re looking for a nice place to get some work done I’d highly recommend here. It’s typically quiet, has a cozy atmosphere, and while the coffee and snacks are a bit more pricy, the quality you receive makes you forget about that.

This was the worst decaf latte I've ever had. Tasted burnt. Just awful!

very cute spot! i ordered an iced matcha and it tasted a little too watery for my liking. the hot vanilla latte was really good though! i wanted to try the specialty drinks but wasn’t sure what was in them so i asked and the staff did not provide a clear answer for me. bummer :(

Ordered two small (8 oz) flat whites and could barely taste the espresso in them. I shudder to think of what it would taste in the larger sizes which just add additional milk with no espresso.
No sure what coffee bean I had, but think they might want to review how they are pulling through their espresso shots to give them more flavour.
Besides that though, the barista was lovely and the space is cute.

Nice little coffee shop. Offers wifi. Great options for coffee and great service. Although the price is a little higher, I feel the quality and amount justifies it. I like ordering the Lavender Latte (item off menu).

I have been several times here. Love my oatmilk cortado either paired with muffin or a scone. The baristas are very friendly and nice.
