Incredibly disappointed. High expectations, terrible experience. Service below average, the wine guy was okay, I’ll give them that, probably the only one who didn’t look tired of what he was doing. The food, mmmm, the carpaccio was pretty decent. The issue… you visit this place to order Kobe beef. They make sure to tell you they’re one of the few certified restaurants to serve it, and naively ask if it’s your first time trying it. My advice, tell them no, even if it is. After about 20 minutes of agonizing waiting, someone will bring you a piece of meat labeled Kobe A5, which you’ll be able to clearly identify as not being Kobe… sure not A5… if you’ve taken the time to understand what real Kobe looks like. After another 20 minutes of even more agonizing waiting, your steak will arrive, overcooked and served not as Kobe, but simply as wagyu, not because the description isn’t accurate, but because of the clear distinction on their menu, with Kobe being what gives them their certification… disappointing but true. It’s not a bad steak, it’s just a regular steak, since, unfortunately, I was not served actual Kobe beef. Costco and some YouTube cooking videos will make you a better ribeye. As for the birthday dessert… mmm. You can just skip it.
