Black Eagle is hands down the best bar in the village! The vibe is always lively, with fun parties, great music, and an awesome staff that makes you feel welcome. The patio is beautiful, and the decor and lights on the dance floor add to the perfect atmosphere. Retro night is a blast! Definitely my favorite spot on Church Street.

Everything that had to do with staff is fantastic! Drinks, music, price is all just right. The dance floor was a bit rigid even though the dj was phenomenal, maybe it was my outfit lol

A great space for conversations with an eclectic crowd. Welcoming to the 40+ age gay men.

It's a stupid place that sells alcohol to customers and then tells them they're drunk and doesn't let them in. You're the one selling me alcohol, idiot.

Bouncers didn't let me in because I didn't have ID, as a 34 year old male who definitely doesn't look 19. And they were like "in ontario any bar requires you to show id" when a simple Google search could educate them that it only applies if I look under 25 which I most certainly do not. Was going to spend lots there in celebration of something but will never go there or encourage any of my friends to go there. Ps I can't walk around with my id because it's a piece of paper that can't get damaged. But thanks for being so accommodating to a gay refugee :)
My last visit to this place was awful. My partner and I waited outside in line for almost an hour. When we finally got in, we only stayed for 6 minutes. I was wearing jock strep and my husband had clothes on, but it wasn't until we got inside that we discovered my partner wouldn't be allowed into the Dark room unless he got undressed. He would not like to take off his clothes, and we felt like we'd been scammed by the Black Eagle bar because this requirement was never mentioned in the party announcement and we had been to this party many times before and that rule never existed. We asked for a refund, but of course, it was denied. We felt tricked and frustrated.

By far my favourite gay bar in the city. I feel so welcomed by all the staff. Big shout out to the bouncer who is there every weekend , super nice and chatty guy. Every bartender I have encountered has also been friendly.
Forget about woodys and crews where it’s packed and cliquey - Black Eagle makes everyone feel welcome.
Always a great place to be a flaming gay boy
