A mix of shaved ice and an assortment of jellies and tapioca balls. Fantastic when you want dessert but don't want anything too heavy like cake or ice cream. I'd recommend sharing with 2-3 people because it's pretty big! We went here again recently though and I am not sure if it's open right now...

I was looking for a quick lunch to grab while I was in the area, and I noticed that BlackBall has a joint inside it called A Bing Chinese Crepe. I'd eaten a Chinese crepe that kind of blew my mind on a trip to Hong Kong, so it was definitely a no-brainer. I decided to go with the Chicken Thigh Crepe ("Onion, cilantro, lettuce, crisp fritter, soya sauce, spicy sauce, and chicken thigh") and it was ready after about a 20 minute wait. I hurried it back to my car and enthusiastically began digging in. It did not disappoint. It was still piping hot when I began eating, and all the components work so well together. The various sauces are almost ridiculously flavorful, while the plentiful chicken and crisp fritter ideally complement the concoction. The perfectly-cooked egg crepe holds everything together super well, too. I just can't understand why Chinese crepes aren't as popular as burritos and tacos, but hopefully we'll start to see more of these places around town in the future.

I ordered from UberEats for the Morning Time Chinese Brunch. I loveeeeee the rice burritos (rice balls). They reminded me of my childhood brunches back in Asia so I appreciated it so much. The food was kept very warm until my pick up. It is small portion but super super filling! Will definitely comeback again! :)

Inconsiderate customer service, I was interested in their Chinese crepe, the lady whom was making it told us to go to the dessert area to order. Once we got there he said crepe orders r done by the lady up front. We return back to the lady she said she's done for the day and turn us down completely without apolozing

Tastes wise, Blackball has decent flavours. The taro ball and sweet potatoes balls feels fresh. Unlike the competition in this area, you can actually tastes the flavours of the root vegetables. I ordered the Jiu-Fen Taro Soup. With all that said, I felt $7.50 for ginger broth and two stew taros and 6-7 balls is a little steep. I don't know if I can recommend that to others. Perhaps it was the item I ordered, the price to quantity ratio is not justifiable.

Atmosphere & Service: The service was average, if not worse? We got a bit of push back and side eye when we kindly asked the server to switch out our dirty utensils for new... Also, spent 10 minutes trying to get their attention. Food: We ordered the signature shaved ice dessert mix and a jasmine milk tea with tapioca - obviously! The dessert was overall not as tasty as I anticipated it to be. The consistency of the shaved ice was very off. It felt like I was eating a snow cone. The toppings: jelly, taro, and sweet potato balls were all soft and chewy. The jasmine milk tea with tapioca was great. Tapioca pearls were chewy and warm. Price & Recommendation: I would have to come back to try the soup desserts. For what its worth, I would suggest to steer away from the signature... or maybe just the shaved ice dishes.

Love the signature bowl. Their shaved ice is coarse and not very fine. Giving it a 3 stars because it is pricey.
Okay dessert place. Definitely over priced and nothing special. If you're downtown you can probably find better just around the corner

Staff were friendly and seating area was clean and welcoming. However the pricing leans on the higher end, considering the size of the desserts. I had the mini tofu jelly bowl, which tasted very fresh.

Classic Asian desserts with a ton of variety. The prices are fair for the quality/quantity you get. The place is usually busy and packed with students that work there. We ordered three desserts to share between four people which was more than we could finish. It was strange that when we asked for extra cutlery or bowls that they gave us disposable ones rather than the reusable ones- maybe they don't have enough utensils? Either way, while it was a decent place to get dessert, I won't be returning because it was really nothing too special!

Blackball is really clean and their hot peach oolong tea tastes really good and soothing. Also I love their kiwi drink. It’s really refreshing and sweet, sour enough to enjoy as my go-to summer drink ❤️ Definitely coming back again!!!

Texture of Yu Yuan (taro balls) was not chewy as I hoped for.
