The food was good, just not memorable. It took a solid 20 minutes before we were even asked for a drink order, followed immediately by pressure to order both starters and mains at once. The Caesar salad was genuinely delicious. The grilled calamari was very good as well, though a bit heavy on the sauce. We ordered the bolognese, seafood pasta, and branzino—portions were enormous, which sounds great until you realize the branzino was largely flavorless and paired with aggressively bitter rapini. We were asked 3 times to package it up - after a guest decline once - remove the plates. The service was totally absurd. This is a fairly straightforward Italian restaurant, yet our server Richard felt compelled to mansplain every dish (for example: “a rosé sauce is tomato sauce with cream”) after attempting to elevate a very basic menu with words - we were left to eat, while our cocktail & wine glasses sat empty. After the food was dropped, no one returned. Dirty plates lingered, we were never offered a second drink, and dessert menus were dropped with a drive-by “dessert? coffee?”—while one member of our party wasn't even at the table. We eventually had to ask for the bill. Great ambiance but the service was completely absurd. For a restaurant, you'd think selling drinks would be a priority. We left stone-cold sober and won't be back - perhaps they are relying on the one and done theatre crowd not repeat neighbourhood business.

We went to Blu Ristorante and enjoyed a dinner from the winterlicious menu. I had the carpaccio, shrimp risotto and pistachio tiramisu. The waiter and service was great and provided good advice on the menu and suggestions for wine, all very helpful. During dinner, we also had live music by a pianist. I would highly recommend, great value for the food, atmosphere and service.

We (Port Saint John) booked a corporate event at Blu Ristorante in August for an event in December. Communication was excellent from August-December. Once on-site the venue was lovely, food excellent and service was top notch. Very professional and exceptional customer service. We highly recommend Blu Ristorante. Recently had a late dinner at Blu. The experience was amazing...from the drinks.. main meal.... dessert...and of course the impeccable welcoming service. Bryce, Geoff and Fawzul were amazing. They created a welcoming and fun atmosphere to dine in. Will definitely return when back in Toronto.
It was good but overrated. I expected a better or elegant restaurant. The place is outdated.

My husband and I absolutely love Blu Restaurant on King. From stepping in the front door to finishing our lovely meal and wine it's absolutely welcoming, cozy, one of our very favourite places to spend some time in the city. Not to mention everyone of the staff members cannot do enough for you and they all are so delightful and some even entertaining and we always look forward to returning.
