The food is good but just a heads up they do not allow strollers inside the restaurant. They turned my friend away in the freezing rain with her toddler. It’s understandably a small space, but the staff seemed dismissive. The situation could have been handled better.

Bodega Henriette is a cozy spot along a primarily residential strip of Gerrard. It’s divided up into a cafe at the front, and is a dine-in restaurant at the back. In the summer there’s a small patio too so you have a better chance at scoring a seat! The cafe is fantastic. They offer a large assortment of pastries and desserts that are made daily, as well as beignets on Sundays. You can’t go wrong with anything here, the assortment is often changing so you can always find something delicious and new to try. Some of my favourites over the years have been the Biscoff stuffed cookie, the chocolate chip cookie, the berry bread pudding and the chocolate almond croissant. The cafe also serves great drinks and Charisse, who is often the barista, is always welcoming and super friendly! The restaurant itself is fantastic as well. It gets busy on weekends, especially around noon, so book a reservation online in advance if you can. If you do score a seat they have amazing French toast, some of the best scrambled eggs, the bread and sandwich buns are always freshly baked, servers such as Leah are always attentive and friendly, and every detail down to the pretty plates they use add to the charm of this cozy spot. This place is a hidden gem for many in the neighbourhood and is serving up some of the best breakfast in town!

Great neighbourhood gem. Food is season close-to-perfection for the audience they cater to. The attention from the red-head waitress was amazing. Drinks were great. The pastries are a must, perhaps a before and after a meal. They also have a coffee counter for take-out that seems busy. I had the pulled pork scrambled breakfast. Thumbs up for a girls-supporting girls business!!!

Rude staff. They should try being more welcoming of the customers that have made them the success they are. I was one of the first ever customers when this place opened many years ago. I used to promote it to everyone I know. Not anymore. Based on other reviews, it seems I’m not the only person who has experienced rude service from staff here. I won’t be back and I won’t be recommending this place anymore.

Cute small restaurant/cafe that seems to be a local favourite in the area with frozen take home options as well.
The French toast was interesting with baguettes, highlight was the house made cheesecake which was dense and tasty.
Chai tea latte was good as well.
