Had an amazing experience. The food was fantastic and the service was even better. The owner was incredibly attentive, offering samples to me and other patrons and making sure everyone was enjoying our meals. You can really feel the care they put into the place. Toronto definitely needs more spots like this.

Im fairy free and the gentlemen went out of his way to make sure i could have breakfast anyway. Custom made me a meal. Very happy.

Serendipity is truly a wonderful and magical thing. A set of unexpected circumstances brought a friend and me for the first time to the incredible Bad Egg Diner (a.k.a. Bold Bites Co.), a bright, cheery and unpretentious eatery on Richmond Street east of Jarvis in downtown Toronto, at lunchtime on Tuesday March 3, 2026.

Without looking at the menu I simply said,
“Here’s what I would like:
two fried eggs over easy
caramelized onions
sautéed mushrooms and peppers
a side of deep-fried grated potato croquettes, with their superb house mayo sauce.“

“No problem!”, they said, without batting an eye.

My buddy’s order, from the menu, was an open face fried egg sandwich (on toast) with avocado, also with a side of croquettes drizzled with their fabulous mayo sauce.
Accompanying our meals were delicious chocolate brownies and superb Marsala chai.

Simply put, the flavours, textures and presentation were amazing. Everything was absolutely delicious and perfectly prepared and served. Owner Dave Polny is a most gracious and masterful host, and his staff are engaging and friendly. Our server, Kshitija, was a delight to deal with and was very attentive throughout our meal.

This establishment should definitely be on your A-list for a terrific meal and a fun dining experience. It is certainly on mine. Get there!

Ordered a breakfast sand which today it delicious I am very happy with it this sesame bun is everything maybe needed a little more spicy mayo but it is yummy !

Been here today for the first time, super friendly environment! The cashier was nice, he offered a coffee on the house and applied a student discount! Just have your student card on you:)
I ordered an avocado sandwich, it was delicious!
Definitely will come back! It’s convenient that it’s super close to George Brown College.

Nazim and his staff were lovely, warm, and welcoming to start my Valentine’s Day. I have a gluten allergy and often have no options at this style of restaurant, however, they graciously accommodated my allergy and offered me a coffee as I waited for my food. I had the beef bowl without sauces as they contained gluten. The meal itself was good. The protein portion was quite small with a huge amount of rice, but the protein was cooked well. The kimchi was fantastic. I would love to see more GF options in the future but overall the staff made up for it with the experience.

I've been visiting this location since May 2025, maybe once a week. Everytime my food has been delicious, the customer service has always been awesome (employees are super nice) and it's always clean.
I'd definitely recommend this if you like eggs and their spicy options are actually spicy!
