Today we paused at Boom on St. Clair for a late breakfast. We were warmly greeted by our host and server, Isabel. As this was ‘brunch’ for us we chose 2 hearty options: the Power Breakfast (with peameal, poached eggs, roasted tomatoes and rye toast) and the Oh Canada Eggs Benedict. Both meals included fresh fruit garnish: an orange twist and a pineapple wedge. Both meals were attractively plated. (Something that particularly appeals to my CIA trained foodie husband…”we consume first with our eyes!”) The food arrived hot, and Isabel made sure to check back with us - first if all was right with our meal - and later on for coffee refills.We often choose to return here when in Toronto to see our kids and grandkids, and here are our reasons why:1. consistency - we can count on the food being exactly the same, every time, as described on the menu;2. we can count on being seated quickly, even when they’re busy;3. we feel they value our business - they remember us, and call us by name, and seem genuinely happy we came;4. options - the menu appeals to all of us, and there’s something for everyone, even the most finicky eater: grandkids, adults, and seniors;5. and finally, with all respect to gender and ageism, they employ women of a certain vintage, who know their stuff, understand children and the challenges of dining out, and how to problem-solve and think on their feet - and whose years in age also bring wisdom to their job performance!Thank you Boom for our full bellies and Isabel’s capable and caring service. We’ll see you again, soon!

The server is racist. She is a middle aged white lady. She kept throwing unnecessary compliment/being extremely nice to my white boyfriend, while treated me with cold and rudeness. When ordering a breakfast dish, she asked me what kind of bread I want, and I asked her what are the options. I didn’t hear her clearly and named a type of bread that’s not on the list. She gave me attitude for that. During the entire service (initial greeting, ordering, checking up how we like the food, bill) she was overly attentive to my boyfriend while barely acknowledged my presence.Food is average. Will not come again.

Horrible and rude waitress and very dirty place. It has changed drastically. The food is over priced and not good at all. The last 3 times I went there, I told myself never again. New management is not doing a good job at all. I go somewhere else for breakfast where it's less expensive, clean and friend service.

Thank you Boom Breakfast Cafe for having a ton of vegan options on the menu. Hard to find anywhere to grab breakfast in TO with vegan options other than a smoothie. Had a vegan omelet that was delicious! Our server, Zam, was absolutely friendly, warm, and delightful. Zam totally added to the overall great experience. From the moment we sat down, Zam went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was nothing short of perfect.

Although on the outside this joint looks like a standard commercial brunch spot, it had a deceivingly homey and community atmosphere behind the front doors.My wife, daughter and I were welcomed by an incredibly friendly and warm staff. The food was fantastic but I must admit the highlight of our experience was our waitress, Isabel.She made sure to check in on us and make sure that we were always taken care of. Additionally, she took the time to chat a bit with us and we all felt as though we were regulars despite it being our first time at this spot.Thanks Isabel!

First time going to Boom, was for a work gathering. The server was great and very attentive. We went for about 9:30am, it wasn't super busy but picked up as the day went on. Had the pancakes they were good. Most of the party enjoyed their meals. It was a cute little spot to meet and share a meal.
