I visited the Boston Pizza at Front & John in downtown Toronto and had a very disappointing experience. The pizza was undercooked, and the customer service was very poor. We paid full price even though we didn’t touch the salads because the food quality was unacceptable.

What bothered us even more was hearing the store manager talking to the server and saying that we were “expecting free pizza,” instead of addressing the actual issue. That was unprofessional and made the experience worse.

This place gave me horrific food poisoning. I don’t know if it was just an off day of cooking for them or what, but my burger was super off, and I believe that’s what did me in.

I want to share my experience as a visitor because it was extremely disappointing. I was excited to watch the game here, especially since we had heard this was one of the best places and that it’s run by two brothers. Unfortunately, what happened to us left a very negative impression.

Some of our group arrived around 3:30 for an 8:00 PM game. We were told we had a reservation and that everything was fine. The rest of our group arrived around 5:30. At no point did anyone mention that every single person needed to be present at the same time. Normally, most places will seat you when most of the group is there.

However, one of the owners insisted that the entire group had to be inside before we could be seated. In my personal experience, his attitude was extremely unprofessional. He raised his voice, spoke disrespectfully to both us and the staff, and didn’t seem willing to listen. At first he said he was the manager, but later it became clear he was actually one of the owners. Based on what I saw, he seemed inexperienced with basic customer service.

What made the situation worse was the inconsistency. I personally witnessed other guests being seated without their full groups present. I saw a woman walk in, say she knew him, and she was given a table immediately. I also saw another group of about 23 people get seated even though only part of their group was there. Meanwhile, we were denied a table unless every single person was physically present. To me, this felt unfair and discriminatory.

When we tried to explain calmly that we were never told these rules, he escalated the situation by calling security, as if we were causing a problem — which we were not. This was very upsetting, especially since this was my first big customer-service experience in Canada. The other brother was much more polite and tried to help, but unfortunately the rude one was clearly the one making the decisions.

Overall, my experience was a disaster. Not everything is about money, and customer service should be about respect, communication, and fairness. Based on what my group and I personally experienced, I would not recommend this place.

Terrible venue downtown. I was here a few months ago for the same... A UFC event. Staff or managers that do not know what customer service is all about. Both levels.

First time, the stream for the UFC event went down. Only sound could be heard,no picture. Tons of upset customers.

Second time, got served after about 15 minutes of waiting. Server did not come back at all after serving us our drinks. We had to flag down another waiter to get our bill in order to move to tables upstairs. When we went upstairs, we must have waited over 15 minutes before we decided to leave because of the extremely poor customer service. 3 people behind the bar upstairs doing nothing but chatting amongst themselves, one waiter passing us atleast 10 times without acknowledging any of us or asking if we have been served.

Very disappointed. Not surprised by the service at Boston Pizza. Never again.
