The food and atmosphere were great, but the service was very disappointing. An old lady server repeatedly came to our table (at least 8 times) asking if we had finished, even though it was an hour before closing. She even said we were “welcome to stay until closing,” but her constant rushing and comment about wanting to leave on time made the experience uncomfortable. Great café, but the server’s attitude ruined it

The food was tasty and generally reasonably-priced, though the French toast plate was highly overpriced in my opinion.

I had breakfast here, tastes great, fresh and homemade. I tried many others in this neighbour and none of the places is as good as here.
Amazing pancake and you should give it a try.
Staff are nice and friendly.
I would recommend this place to anyone want to have healthy delicious breakfast, brunch 🤘

Schnitzel is pre-made and microwaved. Dry, chewy, juiceless - practically a beef jerky. Apple strudel is technically a strudel in appearance but season less and tasteless. Salad portion are small. Seem to have a long history and well-endorsed in local community.

Happened to be in the area looking for breakfast.
Looked online and Bread and Butter seems like a good option.
We walked up to the counter and checked out the wall menu.
They have a good breakfast selection. I had a hard time deciding.
Once I looked at the lunch options I couldn’t resist getting meatloaf sandwich.
My husband was happy to see all the schnitzel options. he picked a classic with sauerkraut.
We ordered at the counter and sat down. We both enjoyed our choices.
Tasty large sandwiches for a great price.
Looking forward to trying other menu items in the future.
Maybe next time we will order breakfast.

The wooden features and mismatched plates remind me of my grandma’s cottage. Nice cozy cafe.
Good coffee too.

My parents took me here as a kid, now I’m taking my kids here. Personally, I come here when meeting friends for a small lunch. Price is just right that you can meet your friends often.

Family owned and operated. Solid, friendly, hardworking people. Quite rare for Toronto to have a restaurant that’s been operating for so long.

Schnitzel sandwiches are the right size for lunch. Not too heavy, not too light.

First time trying and I was absolutely blown away. Everything is made fresh in house the selections are endless. There is something for everyone. Lidia is such a light she made us feel so welcome and cared for. Thank you for making our first experience one to remember. We will be regulars from now on.

Old style diner. We found Bread & Butter by accident but it has blown our expectations out of the waters. Lydia is a very sweet lady who took exceptional care of us. Food was delicious and has large variety. Will be back and telling everybody I know in Davisville.

Schnitzel is my favourite sandwich in the city!!! Very consistent food and family run! Patio is great and always a relaxing, comfortable space. Always worth the trip up to midtown.
