A staple of Mt. Pleasant Village, best schnitzel I’ve ever tasted!
My parents took me here as a kid, now I’m taking my kids here. Personally, I come here when meeting friends for a small lunch. Price is just right that you can meet your friends often.
Family owned and operated. Solid, friendly, hardworking people. Quite rare for Toronto to have a restaurant that’s been operating for so long.
Schnitzel sandwiches are the right size for lunch. Not too heavy, not too light.
First time trying and I was absolutely blown away. Everything is made fresh in house the selections are endless. There is something for everyone. Lidia is such a light she made us feel so welcome and cared for. Thank you for making our first experience one to remember. We will be regulars from now on.
Old style diner. We found Bread & Butter by accident but it has blown our expectations out of the waters. Lydia is a very sweet lady who took exceptional care of us. Food was delicious and has large variety. Will be back and telling everybody I know in Davisville.
Schnitzel is my favourite sandwich in the city!!! Very consistent food and family run! Patio is great and always a relaxing, comfortable space. Always worth the trip up to midtown.
Meal loaf melt sandwich was off the charts!!!
What a wonderful place!! Food is fantastic and priced fair. The staff are great and friendly and the atmosphere is calming. The butter tarts were also extremely excellent!

Unpleasant Service
The staff at Bread and Butter are very rude and seem uninterested in providing a good experience. They only treat you well if you’re in a large group, which makes it feel like they care more about the bill than their customers. Very disappointing.

A beautiful, cozy little restaurant with super friendly and welcoming staff. We had breakfast there once, and it was a fantastic experience! The food was delicious, the coffee was excellent, and the service was incredibly warm and attentive. We’re already looking forward to becoming regulars. Plus, it’s great to know you can also order through Uber Eats for those days when you want to enjoy their offerings at home!

It's a treasure in the neighborhood. Have been coming for lunch or brunch for almost 20 years. Friendly staff. And IMHO, the second best Goulash in the city

The food and atmosphere is incredible. The service and staff are superb and so friendly, I brought my boyfriend with me and we decided to make this our regular spot.
The schnitzel is so good and so large it’s the size of my head! Also get the schnitzel with the homemade tomato sauce is absolutely incredible.
Overall amazing!

Was honestly very disappointed with the good and service. The person taking the orders is very rude and the sandwich was so dry. Didn’t even toast the bread before adding the egg salad mix. There was a small egg shell in the egg salad that I accidentally ate, the experience was horrible.
