My taste buds are still singing from our last visit! Everything was just so yummy. The waitress did an excellent job. Overall experience: 5 stars.

Was here for an intimate birthday nosh and drink (just 2 of us).

We stopped in for a “Friday night out” dinner. Brothers is a great place with fantastic, thoughtful and exquisitely prepared dishes. Wonderful, inventive flavour combinations. Shared plates make for very cozy dining. A buzzing but intimate restaurant. Menu changes daily.

Food is very good.. but from our visit, nothing really ”wow”-ed me. We got the lamb, carpaccio, crab special of the night and cavatelli. The menu changes daily and I’ve seen other menus that looked more interesting. So maybe it just depends on your visit. While it is slightly expensive (it is Yorkville after all), the portions are actually big.. so between 2 people, 3-4 dishes to share is more than enough. Service is friendly - I get the impression that they have quite a bit of regulars who dine. The space is tight, but somehow it works! Best seats are probably the ones facing the window or the corner bar seats.

Brothers offers interesting menu choices. Our server and the Chef ensured our understanding of ingredients and their recommendations were enjoyed. The rumbling of the subway below while at first was slightly distracting soon became unnoticed and we enjoyed a pleasant afternoon and delicious meal.

I came here to catch up with a few girlfriends last week. Brothers has great food with really interesting/unexpected textures and flavours, and the majority of the ingredients are locally sourced. And to top it off, you can’t really go wrong with the excellent wine and cosy atmosphere.

Disclosure: I did not eat a full meal here. I came in for dinner at the urging of a good friend. The place is tiny, a bar and a few tables in the back. This is a foodie's paradise, with an ever-changing menu. I may have hit it on a night that didn't align with my taste preferences. I'm okay with that. I sat at the bar and ordered a beer (great unique selection BTW), had some olives, bread and cheese. The menu consisted of items like beef cheeks, sweetbreads, lamb, chicken, and one pasta dish. Many of the photos had items that I would've gladly ordered, but they were not offered on this visit. Sometimes you find things you like, sometimes not. I'll come back just to see what magic they have to offer.

Stop by this cozy little spot adjacent to bay station for a delightful meal. The atmosphere is calm, relaxed, and soothes the soul. The wine list is very impressive, and I'd be pleased ordering a glass blindfolded. Their simple approach on food highlights the best each ingredient has to offer. Treat yourself to their sweetbreads; soft, sweet, and creamy inside, fried lightly and seasoned to perfection. The olives and sourdough were a great alone, but when you dip the bread into the residual oil from the olives, you've reached nirvana.

An intriguing a la cart tasting menu situated right on top of Bay Station in downtown Toronto. Whilst you dine, you can get feel the rumble as the subway trains pass through every so often. By the end of the meal, you barely even notice it and just treat it as part of the ambience of the restaurant.

An intriguing a la cart tasting menu situated right on top of Bay Station in downtown Toronto. Whilst you dine, you can get feel the rumble as the subway trains pass through every so often. By the end of the meal, you barely even notice it and just treat it as part of the ambience of the restaurant. The website is entirely useless as it offers no additional information aside from the splash page. Don't bother going there if you want to learn anything about the place. The restaurant can be considered to be quite tiny with about 8-10 seats at the bar when you first enter the place. There is a very intimate and romantic two seats facing the street window if you are so inclined. We ended up with a table in the back half of the restaurant that seats about 10-12. Reservations are very recommended here as you could end up waiting an hour as a walk-in guest. As mentioned earlier, the style is an a la carte tasting menu. Each menu item lists the three key ingredients that will form the dish and then you just put your trust in the chef and kitchen team to deliver an experience to you on the plate. The menu reads from top to bottom with the entries at the bottom fo the list and the, sharable if you chose, appetizers near the top. The one thing that menu does not indicate is whether the appetizers are a hot or cold dish so make sure to check with your server. We ended up going for the following dishes that peeked our interest: 1. Squash, almond, rose d'amour: a really nice warm wintery dish to start the meal off. The squash was nicely roasted with the sliced almonds added a nice texture crunch. the white foamy sauce was light and tasty. 2. oxtail, scallop, radish: a really rich dish that combines the land and the sea. Pan-fried scallops were placed delicately on a well-braised piece of boneless oxtail. It was super tender the moment you try to break the delicate balancing act. This dish was a highlight for me. 3. cod, little gem, beurre blanc: the cod was cooked really well with a crispy skin and the flaky inside. The gem lettuce was kinda listless on the plate as it was just steamed and placed in the beurre blanc sauce. I wish they gave the gem lettuce a little more oomph for the dish.. 4. duck, clap shot, pontac: this entree was the biggest of them all with a huge portion of duck breast that was pink in the middle. Definitely meant to be shared with a partner. It was sliced into two large pieces and this particular dish I found the protein a little touch to chew throughout. Felt like it wasn't as moist and tender as it could have been. The clapshot was a take on a vegetable terrine that had a lot of wintery vegetables of the season. It wasn't my favourite but I'm sure others would argue differently. Overall, we had a great time here at Brothers and the meal left my YEA and i feeling very satisfied. The always changing tasting menu gives you more reason to come back every so often as new inspiration hits during the revolving seasons here in Toronto.

I really wasn't a fan of this place. I'm sorry but I found the food way too pretentious for my tastes. The goods : the smoked sturgeon was delicious. The service was pretty great. The bads: the location was waaaaay too cramped. The scallop and oxtail dish though it looked gorgeous, was one of the weirdest combos I've ever had in my life. The actual liquor selection was non existent. Sorry I won't be back here

Two visit - two flops. Not sure if i'm unluckily hitting bad nights, but over all, I've decided this place doesn't hit the mark for a few reasons, and I won't be visiting again. 1) Service is too relaxed. It's somewhere between Jenn Agg's casual refined style and downwards, to more casual bar service style. The typical touch points after you receive food, the steps of service - all are thrown out of the window here. The end result is service that is just delivery focused, not customer comfort focused. 2) The space is too cozy and not comfort focused. If you're not getting a seat in the crammed seating area, then you're getting an uncomfortable seat at the bar without a back, and constantly getting bumped into. Otherwise, you're sitting at the window, cold, and with barely any service. 3) Food is really hit or miss. Conceptually, very good, but from an execution perspective, poor. It's like White and Nicolau (or their hired exec chef) comes up with a menu, and then get chefs to execute, without taste and quality control after. The end result is the food is not balanced and strays from the original intent. Too fatty, too salty, deep fryer oil not changed fast enough, etc. So all in all, the place isn't fairing well on quality, service, or atmosphere. There are much better restaurants to spend your money.

Excellent service. Food was gorgeous and delicious. Patrons were very friendly and in fact we are meeting the guests from the next table at our next restaurant experience. Get the oxtail. Enough said!!!

Read about this place and the story behind it and I knew I would fall in love. Amazing food quality, extremely knowledgeable, patient and attentive service with a great wine selection. Great date night spot! You can tell that they really source high quality ingredients. This spot is a must go.

Best place for lunch in the area without a doubt. Very creative and interesting menu (it changes every day). Very good wine selection as well.
