We got to Pii around 1 p.m. and easily found street parking. Not too busy. With Thai food, I usually order tom yum and curry on the first visit—just like how tomato-egg stir-fry and a plate of greens can tell you everything about a kitchen.
The tom yum was my husband’s pick. Less fiery than usual, gentler on the palate, and to me it even hinted at borscht. We went with shrimp and upsized to the sharing portion.
The green curry beef was all about the coconut milk—rich and fragrant. For the first time, I felt one bowl of rice between two people wasn’t enough. There was more beef hidden underneath than it first looked, quite hearty.
Dessert was mango sticky rice, again with coconut milk worth praising. I nibbled at each little portion until I was fully digging in—the sticky rice balls were tiny, but addictive. My favorite was the pandan flavor, though each one was lovely. At the end, I dipped the yellow and orange sticky rice into the leftover green curry sauce—an “unholy” combo that turned out to be perfect.
The best thing about this place: the portions are right-sized for two people with smaller appetites. Three dishes felt just right, and the bill was fair. Next time we’re in the area, I’d love to try the pad krapow and beef skewers.

Great place for real authentic Thai food. My wife and I went in for dinner and left very satisfied and full. The restaurant is clean. Great seating, and friendly staff. The food is very authentic. If you like Thai then this is the place for you. Definitely worth a visit.

I had a very bad experience with Pii NongThai. The staff was rude and made me wait a long time even though the order was already ready. This kind of service makes it hard for drivers to do our job efficiently. I hope they treat drivers with more respect in the future

What an incredible gem of a restaurant! The vibe and atmosphere is polished and nice. The service is prompt and welcoming, and the food was out of this world. Calamari was great, one of the best pad Thai I have had, and the real star? The mango sticky rice. What a work of delectable art.

I ordered through doordash for the king oyster mushrooms and green beans. After a few bites I looked down and found this bug on top of one of the mushroom head. That is so nasty. Will never order here again. That's so gross!!!
