It was our first time trying a tasting menu and this experience did not disappoint! So delicious and the enthusiasm and pride of the staff as they served and explained each course was beautiful. We did the wine pairing for one of us, which was great and I got a mocktail that was so refreshing. They even gave us a bonus starter course and bonus dessert! Celebrated our 5 year anniversary there and it was perfect.
What an outstanding opportunity to see chefs Daniel Boulud and François-Emmanuel Nicol interact with each other in person and in their creations on the plate at this special event on a Sunday afternoon. It was a celebration of Old World heritage and technique with Eastern Canadian ingredients as interpreted by a new creative in François-Emmanuel Nicol, and the gracious experience of Boulud and the Toronto team. Wine choices were also exquisite and allowed for new experiences while being perfectly matched to the dishes. I woke up the next day uplifted and smiling, a much needed respite in our current world. Service was warm and professional, live music was lovely and light - hospitality as a salve, indeed. Will most definitely seek out another event and Cafe Boulud. It can't come soon enough.
I invited a group of friends to the Daniel Boulud event with Quebec chef, Francois Emmanuel Nicol. The food was incredible, and it was lovely to have ingredients from the Quebec City area and the east coast. Everyone enjoyed the afternoon. And I was personally c honoured to meet Chef Boulud myself. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon
Great experience with a very Nice surprise - an anniversaire croissant. Service was very good and good delicious.
Lovely room and ambience. Excellent server. Food really delicious. (Meal took abit longer than I liked but it was very good. ). A great venue for a relaxing meal. Pricey but worth it. Will definitely go back.
Service and ambience remain excpetional but new menu did not impress and meal cost 50-100% more than previously. It's a French bistro where, IMO, steak frites is a staple of the menu. The old flatiron steak frites for $38 was always great...now the only steak is an $88 ny strip and, while the presentation was great, the steak was very mid. Presentation of all dishes both in terms of arrangement and how they are served is terrific, which makes for an interesting and elevated experience. New menu def has more of a fine dining feel. If money is no object, fill your boots. Not that you're probably going to the Four Seasons seeking value but for what we used to like it's now double the price and not any better....probably give it a miss in future
I went yesterday at Café Boulud located in the Four Seasons Hotel 60 YORKVILLE AVENUE, TORONTO, ONTARIO M4W 0A4 CANADA for their "Thanksgiving's (celebrated in the United States first) special meal". The usual "tap water or sparkling water? this meant: a Pellegrino sparkling bottled water?, the waiters hurried around offering the same, making it what? like ordering a $500.00 bottle of wine, or champagne? The soup was very good. 4-5 waiters around. Do you want? Don't you? Don't you want? He asked _____ if _____ had finished the soup. As soon as yes, he jumped on me to try and to remove my dish (which I considered him to have used against me what is considered something in the Chart of Human Rights: sexism. We then proceed with the main course, while they still tried to guess where I was from and my accents. So we eat the turkey dish. The plate was big, with mash potatoes that looked more like watery mash potatoes, I would have liked more true mash potatoes in my dish. In the meantime some other waiter asked _____ if we would like more wine? Sipping on an ordinary wine for $18.00/ a glass. Nervous, they keep bringing on baskets after baskets of bread, and their little pyramidal shaped slump of butter on a little round ceramic or porcelain plate whatever (no specialty butters there?) So I asked _____ to bring the desserts: like a huge tart or cookie caramelized (almost breaking one's teeth) drippling with caramel or sothething, and the waiter bugged _____ first you know you can ordered the chocolate cake and you the pecan with pecan caramelized and share! as if _____ don't know that he was to say this. The dripped coffee (café au percolator) that they served us was horrible with a little milk, sugar (what a restaurant in a 5-stars hotel cannot offered better coffee?). The wood floor was very slippery, thick carpet around a few tables. The 5% tip offered to the waiter had already been decided... Their bank machine showed either a 15% minimum tip, 17%, 25% You have got to be kidding guys, it is onlly in Europe and it has to be very exceptional. _____ and ended up with a bill of more than $400.00. I went to the washrooms, which were very clean, you know that there is like a small coffee downstairs doing free service internet wireless service and they can stroll and walk up and down the hotel, there was a young vulgar woman looking at herself close to the mirror, putting on makeup after makeup, I even called her "Miss Makeup". Very clean, sophisticate hotel.
We had the pleasure of dining at Café Boulud last night, and the entire experience was exceptional from start to finish. From the sommelier, John, to the attentive staff, everyone went above and beyond to make the evening truly special. We had come to try their signature duck dish, which was absolutely delicious, perfectly prepared and full of flavor. Sommelier John also recommended a superb red wine that paired beautifully with the dish, elevating the whole experience. A sincere thank you to the Café Boulud team for making our evening so memorable. We are already looking forward to our next visit.
We tried the 6 course tasting menu and it was delightful! My friend wanted an alternative to the lamb on our menu, and she was offered veal with seasonal veggies, including cauliflower and mushrooms. The only slight drawback is the restaurant is a mezzanine perched over a bar on the main floor. At around 21h30, loud music came to life, so the background noise volume went up 100 fold. Ambiance and staff were friendly and cheerful. One of our servers even showed us the coffee table book that features the founder Daniel Boulud. I would recommend to friends and go again.
This expensive high end restaurant provides first rate service with fine dining. They also overcharged us.

Delicious, fresh, creative dishes offering excellent value for money. Top service and very nice interior.
I love Café Bouloud and go there all the time. The service is usually excellent and he food is amazing. For this event it was a large group with a fixed menu and the service was incredibly slow even though they insisted on a fixed menu for a group of 10. Half the party had to leave without the desert they paid for because they had to get back to work or appointments and the lunch was already over two hours long.
An incredible experience from start to finish. Food was outstanding and the service was impeccable.
All around excellent experience. Our server Tamson was amazing and that of course just enhances the entire dining experience.
Always a lovely experience at Cafe Boulud! From the fabulous greeters at the front, the wait staff, to the menu, delicious food and ambiance...a really lovely evening!
