During our visit today for Saturday brunch, we were disappointed with the overall service. We had requested to sit on the patio, but were seated at the only table fully exposed to the sun. It became quite uncomfortable after a few minutes, and even though another shaded table became available, we were not accommodated to move. Additionally, our server rarely checked on us. Each time we needed water or assistance, it took a long time, and the staff didn’t seem particularly friendly, we ended up getting water and take-out bags ourselves from inside. We had also mentioned that we were there to celebrate our friend’s birthday, but unfortunately, we were never offered the birthday treat that Café Lander usually provides, which was disappointing.

I visited Café Landwer in Forest Hill and while the food was good, the overall experience was affected by how busy it was. The service felt quite slow, not because of the servers themselves, who were polite and did their best, but more due to how the whole system seemed overwhelmed. It’s clearly a popular spot, and the food quality shows why, but be prepared for longer waits if you go during busy times.

Loved this place! Large and Cozy patio on the relatively quiet Spadina, really good chef, interesting daily specials to switch things up and great service! Lena was our waitress - she was phenomenally attentive, caring and speedy. We will certainly visit again at the first opportunity.
