This review is in support of a good friend of mine who worked at Cafe Le Neuf for 2 months and they have never paid her or any of the other baristas not even once, and withheld every tip for themselves. This place should probably be shut down, and I’m sure it will be.

It’s a cute small coffee shop with good food and a very kind service! Lisa was very an excellent barista and a kind attendant. You should come and check it out for yourself (:

Charmingly well-appointed little coffee spot in such a darling area. Pet-friendly with lovingly and locally sourced pastries that are simply more delicious! Family-owned, so they take pride in what they do. Prices are comparable to the area. I never miss an opportunity to stop by!

We booked this venue for our event and were extremely disappointed with how irresponsible and unhelpful the management was. Despite paying a cleaning fee and even having our own cleaner to tidy up after the event, we were still told to throw out all the garbage ourselves. At the end, the staff came around checking every single tiny detail instead of showing any flexibility or professionalism.
What made it worse is that during the event, when we actually needed assistance, they were nowhere to be found and completely unhelpful — but suddenly at the end, they showed up only to scrutinize everything. For a place that charges extra fees, the lack of service and support is unacceptable.
I would not recommend this venue for anyone who wants a stress-free and well-managed event. There are far better spaces where your time, money, and celebration will actually be respected.
While I haven’t tried the food or drink at Café le Neuf and therefore won’t comment on the products, I am sharing my experience with the event rental process and business integrity of the space operated by Mike-Paul Neufville.
We rented the venue for our wedding and were assured that the space was air-conditioned (a key factor in our decision). When we arrived, the space had only three people in it (family) and no direct sun exposure, yet the temperature already read 28°C. The AC did not appear to be turned on prior to our arrival. It was only after we raised the issue that it was activated (or at least adjusted down) but by then, the room continued to heat up and reached 40°C by the end of the ceremony. Guests flooded outside immediately after we said “I do” just to escape the heat, even though it was 35°C outdoors, which still felt like a relief.
We tried to resolve the issue directly with Mike. The response was disappointing: claiming the AC had been on all along, that the thermostat read 27°C, and that guests “seemed happy” when they arrived to check. (He arrived when we were all outside) Multiple guests confirmed seeing the thermostat read 40°C, and the only relief was stepping outside. The response also cited the solarium-style design and western exposure as reasons for the heat, a factor that should have been proactively managed, not used to dismiss our concerns.
The space may be visually appealing, but the lack of accountability left a lasting negative impression. If you're considering booking Café le Neuf for an event, I strongly recommend getting all assurances in writing and being prepared to advocate for yourself if things go wrong.

I absolutely loved my Americano here. The complexity consisted of notes of chocolate and floral. Loved the minimal design, a great spot in the neighbourhood

Got a regular size Americano, supposed to be 3.95x1.13=4.464, but the shop is asking for 5.37 which doesn’t make sense.
Then when I ask the staff the answer is: the price board needs to be updated which sounds kinda suspicious. If you put a price there you should charge the price not giving explanation after .
Café Le Neuf is one of my favourite spots in the city. It’s tucked right between the beautiful Light Showers sculpture and the Sherbourne Common waterfront, which makes it the perfect place to grab a coffee before a walk along the promenade—or a quick pick-me-up before work or class at George Brown or T3 Bayside.
The vibe inside is stunning—huge ceilings, marble counters, and just this calm, elegant atmosphere that somehow still feels warm and inviting. It honestly feels like sitting in a little museum of beauty. And somehow, you and your latte just… belong.
The Dulce de Leche Latte and Almond Croissant are my go-to, but everything I’ve tried has been amazing. If the weather’s nice, the patio is a great place to people-watch, especially with the stylish crowd that stops by from Mike-Paul’s Atelier next door. So inspiring.
Whether you’re new to the area or just haven’t stopped in yet—go. It’s so worth it.

Café Le Neuf is an absolute gem. Their new coffee beans are on another level — smooth, rich, and hands down better than any other spot nearby (yes, I’ve tried them all 😅).
The staff is amazing — Anas and Mia are always so welcoming and genuinely sweet, they make you feel right at home the moment you walk in.
Let’s talk about the almond croissant and the drink I’m now obsessed with — I tried it once and now I literally want to come back every single day. Everything tastes super fresh and made with love.
The outdoor seating is so cozy and peaceful, perfect for soaking up the beautiful summer vibes. ☀️
Plus, they’ve recently updated their opening and closing hours, which are super convenient for both early birds and late risers.
If you’re tired of the same old places with mediocre coffee and zero warmth, make your way to Café Le Neuf. You won’t regret it.
