Upon coming in to the restaurant, we were impressed with how bright and airy the space felt. Unfortunately, our experience quickly went downhill. We had a stroller with us and we were told that we would only be able to sit at one table, despite 75% of the restaurant being unoccupied. After being seated, we were told that they could “accommodate us“ today since it was a weekday, but on weekends we would not be able to come with a stroller. This being downtown Toronto, we are very used to how busy places get on the weekends which is why we specifically came on a weekday. The server again commented that she was concerned about how much room the stroller was taking up, so we offered to put it under the table, but we were told they “wouldn’t know where to put the extra chair from our table”. Again, with most of the restaurant being empty this seemed a little confusing. Overall, seems like a good spot to come if you do not have children. It perhaps would be helpful if they just had a policy of “no strollers“ to simplify things.

Happened upon Cafe Paradise when searching for a brunch spot for my friends and I. Super glad I did, it's such a cute and cozy restaurant, everyone was super nice there. Thr food portions are humungous and their brunch special is insanely good value for Toronto nowadays. Drip coffee, a main and a mimosa for $29.

Can't wait to come back!

Came about 30 mins before closing for a bite to eat before a show next door at Paradise Theatre. Servers greeted my guest and I last minute and our food was great. The matzo ball chicken noodle soup is a comforting dish for a cold autumn evening, the dill is a nice twist of flavour and the cheese ball is a great addition to the soup. Only thing I wished was that it opened later for guests who attends shows in the theatre or had a dinner menu but it is a cafe after all.

The service was rather unfriendly.
We waited. We had to wait quite a while for our food. And after that, almost no one came to our table. I don't recommend this place for a good rest.

This place is going through an identity crisis. I used to come here daily for good food at a fair price and happily tipped 20%. Then they raised prices by about 50%, but the quality never improved to match. They also rearranged the seating - what used to feel casual is now a forced sit-down experience, likely to encourage bigger tips. Unfortunately, the servers are inattentive and unprofessional. I’ve stopped coming altogether. They need to go back to the same layout and menu from a year ago.

Loved it here, only complaint is the charge and additional $1 for Butter and $1 for Jam for the toast that came with my meal.

What a lovely experience. The atmosphere, service, and food were all amazing. I love that it was open during the holiday as well. The bodega bagel I grabbed was doused in some sort of butter or oil, and I could eat four of them if possible.

makes me feel poor but the breakfast sandwich is good and you get to make eye contact with strangers if you work at the bar by the window
