One of the worst experiences ever! I bought a cake for my son’s birthday and it was dry and tasted terrible. The cake itself was way too dense. I reached out to the business to let them know and the owner asked me to bring in the cake. She said my opinion was subjective. So I brought in the cake (more then half was left over cause no one wanted to take it home after the birthday) to get a partial refund. She was speaking to me as if I have never had cake before. I explained that 14 others who were at the birthday also thought her cake was dry and crumbly. She just kept brushing it off. After she tested the cake, She told me that she thought it was fine and that other people at her cake shop tasted it and said it was fine as well. She put so much emphasis on trying to prove me wrong. It was condescending and uncalled for. I paid $150 to be told my opinion doesn’t matter. Moreover she offered me 10% off for future orders. Not sure why she thought think I’d ever be giving this place my business again. One of the best parts of a birthday is the cake. And thank you so much Cake Star for ruining my son’s first birthday cake. Needless to say I will NEVER be ordering from this place again.

I ordered a tiered carrot cake for my father's 70th birthday for a party of 40 people. Some of our guests have severe food allergies, so I made sure to be very explicit about there being no nuts or raisins in the cake. The cake ended up having both! Someone could have died. And the cake to frosting ratio was so imbalanced - it was basically a fondant and frosting cake with a little bit of cake. When I called to complain I was offered a credit for a new order. But who would want to buy a cake from the same place that made such a serious error? A terrible cake and even more service.

As a small business owner myself I don’t usually do this, however, the way they handled a situation this weekend for my 4 year old Autistic son’s birthday cake was quite disappointed. As parent to a special needs child my son likes only strawberry short cake, my sister had ordered from this company many times and the cakes are wonderful, however when the cake was cut on my sons party I was surprised and of course we knew it was a mistake. Things happen, however it was 30 ppl and we expected cake of our liking. When we approached them not only they dismissed the entire situation in-fact only offered a 10 percent discount for our “next order” I would not ever order from This company again, as we have ordered for so many events. Again mistakes happen but as a loyal customer this was disheartening and money is tight for everyone and high quality products are always appreciated, however customer service should be matching the cost. I’m Disappointed.

One of the best custom cake experiences I’ve ever had. I needed a cake for my partners birthday and I went in on a Friday afternoon to get a birthday cake. While the owner told me she couldn’t make me a “custom cake” I was pleasantly impressed with the options I was given. Even at the base level of not custom, I was able to choose between 4 different cake designs, about 10 types of cake flavors, well over 15 fillings and I was able to make it fancy with edible gold ornaments at a very reasonable price! The buttercream was perfection and the cake fresh and divine. I went with vanilla buttercream on top, a purple rose trim, with marble cake and dulce de leche in the middle. The cake was delicious and not too sweet at all. Everyone raved about it and it was so good that we honestly didn’t take photos of the inside of it, we just devoured it.
One of the best cake experiences in Toronto. It is WORTH THE DRIVE to Lakeshore west to get one and they also do delivery. I can only imagine how epic their custom cakes would be if I had more time and a bigger budget for something crazy. Get your cakes here!
