I got the cod and the halibut fishes.... Both were battered fine.. the fish inside was less tbh... The batter was too crispy... Homemade different kind of.. the owner was nice person... He even gave me extra fries... The place was small and okayish.. giving a oldish vibe... Both fishes tasted the same to me but the vinegar and chips were nice.. got to home but it became cold by then.... It was too oily though....

A family run, local hole in the wall fish and chip joint downtown that’s been operating for over 20 years. I used to come here as a kid for lunch and I was pleasantly surprised they were still open with the same owner!!Definitely not your 5 star Michelin restaurant, instead its the perfect quick cheap eats that will satisfy your comfort food cravings. Everything is made to order, fresh hot fries yes please!Strictly take out and cash only. There is usually paid street parking near by.

I noticed that there is very little fish in the batter, which I think was not the case last year when I went?The chips are very tasty though. I will just go for the chips next time :)

Wow, I'm speechlessThe food is SO horribleI thought this place would be good considering the reviewsI even thought it must be authentic since it was wrapped in newspapersWhen I opened it up, I was so disappointedNOTHING is homemade! It's all store bought!!!When the food was cooked to order as per the sign but was ready in 2 minutes that was the biggest red flag and giveaway that nothing was homemadeThere was only one tiny piece of fish which was mostly batter and you can tell it was store bought from a grocery store and from one of those premade frozen battered fish from the supermarket. When you make your own fish, the fish has a thin flaky crust. When it has a thick crust, it's from a grocery storeThe fries were also store bought. Tastes literally like the frozen fries you can get at the frozen aisle at the supermarketEven the sauces, including the tartar sauce, were all in packetsDefinitely everything here is all store bought and nothing is homemade!Stay far away. This is probably the worst restaurant I have ever been to in Toronto in my entire life

I normal don’t write bad reviews but I can’t really let this place get away with what they served me. I understand the prices are low but my fish was all batter, I literally could not find the fish. I was embarrassed because I thought I was doing a nice thing and brought lunch for my friend. It was inedible and even the fries we threw out. I thought I found a diamond in the rough but I wouldn’t have paid $2 for those meals and been satisfied. A real shame since the food was packaged all nice in newspaper and I thought I was getting something special. I had done my research and looked at reviews and they were very encouraging. What a shame and should be illegal. Things are tight for a lot of people including myself and I’ll never get that $25 back. Pure rubbish. Don’t go to this place

I usually give 5 stars only for outstanding service and or food. I gave 4 today as the fries need to be parboiled 1st ahead of final cooking for orders... less starchy! For the Price this is an Awesome place for Halibut and Chips especially seeing the price of Halibut is at $33/lb. My 3pcs + 1 chip was only $22....
