Dropped in for lunch. The food was fresh, hot and as promised. All of it was delicious and well presented. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Our first time was not a disappointment and we will be back.
Of note too was that the place itself was clean and well kept - rare commodity in an area noted for its hipster restaurants " we don't care about the atmosphere" atmosphere.

It was bad. I never send food back but we had to. For a Saturday night the place was pretty empty. The lack of freshness, and lack of care in providing even a basic mediocre meal was not there. For our mains we ordered the fish and chips and fried chicken plate. Fish was good, but the coleslaw was a weird colour and texture, smelled off. Fried chicken, was not cooked thoroughly and raw inside. Our starters came AFTER our mains. The calamari (if you can call it that) was so thin and weird in texture, resembled rubber bands. Find a better supplier. Even premade frozen calamari is better than this. The buffalo wings was not what I expected. Even though it arrived late, it was cold and covered in the most unappetizing looking sauce. I don’t understand how you can screw up basic bar food. It’s not fine dining. I won’t be back, which is too bad because the building is beautiful and would be bustling if they could just improve on the food quality. Scale down the menu if you have to and just provide a few dishes that you do really REALLY well, people will come!
I appreciate that we were not charged for the fried chicken, wings or calamari.
Update: just wanted to say that this place has so much potential to be an amazing place tucked in a neighbourhood of townhouses. The problems I pointed out are SO fixable, and I would come back if I knew freshness and food quality was addressed and give them another chance. The neighbourhood needs this, winter is coming, not feel like cooking, how nice to come home and grab the family for some good honest comfort food. ?? Please do better❤️

The food remains very good here. however the service is always so hit or miss (often very slow and staff seem unsure), and the beer list leaves a lot to be desired for a neighbourhood “tavern”. Because of this, even though we live nearby, and have opted for farther options many times for quick after work drinks/food. Both items are very fixable, and your unique location and venue could be great- please consider!

Enjoyed the food. Drinks were extremely limited. Very few canned beers.infact they had run out at 7pm On a Saturday. No wine list. The server had no idea what wines they had. They couldn’t make a whiskey sour. And no music. Something light in the background may have been nice.

Great spot in a quiet area of the junction. Service was friendly and fast. The cocktails were fantastic. The smash burger could have been cooked longer, not much caramelization.

The food is great. The location is amazing. Unfortunately this place has the most inconsistent hours I’ve ever encountered. I tried to call today to make a reservation for dinner, the phone went to voicemail which had a message about the restaurant being closed from Jan 15 - Jan 29 for repairs. This would be totally reasonable if it wasn’t currently the end of July. I live close by so I walked over to make the reservation only to discover that the restaurant is closed for a summer break. Again, totally reasonable had this information been posted anywhere at all, perhaps the 6 months outdated voicemail should have been updated with information that is current? The hours listed for this restaurant are different depending on if you check on Google Maps, Apple Maps, or their own website. It saddens me to see this restaurant being so thoroughly mismanaged because it has so much potential. My wife and I have decided that we will no longer try to eat here since it is always more trouble than it’s worth.

Sad to say this place has gone downhill. We used to come as a group, but they’re always out of something now. We ordered the chicken plate and they only gave us chicken legs, which was super weird. The service is also very hit or miss. Such a waste, as it used to be a great neighbourhood spot.

The calamari appetizer was disappointing. When the calamari is cut that thin, it will definitely dry out to the point of barely tasting the seafood. Just cut them thicker and you'll have a better product.
Steak frites, thinnest steak I've ever had for $36. Not knowing this steak was barely 1/2" thick I asked for medium. So thin the only way this steak is coming out is well done. Mashed potatoes were tasty but cold.
Both of these negatives can be improved on.
Thicker steak.
Thicker calamari rings.
