We went to Chef Harwash on our trip to Toronto in 2023. I've been putting off writing this review. My husband and I still talk about the wonderful food we had here. The chef/owners were so incredibly nice. The food was really well seasoned. We ordered the shawarma, the Damascus cheese w bread, and other dishes that now I can't remember. All of his sauces were incredible. Prices were affordable. This place is a gem! I don't know if we will ever come back to Toronto. It was a lovely city though. If we do, visiting Chef Harwash would be #1 on my list.

Let me start by saying I don't care much about shawarma. I'll eat it if its given to me (bc free food obv) but otherwise, I have never actively sought out shawarma in Toronto bc I find it bland and dry. Then we found Chef Harwash and omg my guy, NOW I get it. The flavor profile was surprisingly complex and the chicken was cooked beautifully. Truly a gem this place.

I've lived in Toronto for 14 years... and Alhamdulillah this is my fav chicken shawarma so far. The homemade garlic sauce with the pomegranate sauce is a beautiful marriage. And that chicken, seasoned so well and so tender.. You can smell that seasoning right outside the spot. I will be returning for more menu options. Salam!

Hands down BEST shawarma I have had outside of Damascus. The food is authentic Syrian and for those of you who know, Syrian food is the culinary jewel of the Arab speaking countries. Absolutely delicious!

Hands down the best falafel in the city! I'm from Durham and have been wanting to go back to try more of their menu items.

Had one of these special shwarma last night, served with kindness and professionalism by Sam. It was my first time and I truthfully am finding it hard to get a great wrap here in Toronto. This one was fantastic, stuffed into a lightly charred large pita and then pressed in a panini maker. They add a handful of shoestring fries into the wrap which instal but excellent. The flavours blend into perfection in every single bite!Open til 11pm, this shoebox of a location churns out the very best!’

Chef Harwash! Number 1 shawarma in the country hands down. Only thing that can top this one is shawarma straight from the motherland in Lebanon, and that’s just barely! I literally felt like I was back home, from the experience to the shawarma itself… it was top
