Chuan Chuan Xiang buffet??The tomato pot is very rich! Don’t be too crazy when you dip it into mahjong~ The coriander beef is really delicious! The buffet also has steamed buns, sesame balls, fruits, and ice cream. It’s really worth it! !

MASSIVE disappointment this holiday Easter Sunday. We were hyped about taking our dad here cuz he LOVES lobster. I’ve called several times to clarify the prices, hours, item availability etc. not only was there no lobster, but barely any crab. My husband even asked about no seafood on Easter weekend?? they basically said “Sucks for you”. Someone spilled a cup of dipping sauce all over on the floor, it took ten mins to clean up. We couldn’t get up cuz there was soy sauce everywhere. There are no tongs for the hotpot, you must use your chopsticks, I got yelled at. And got yelled at about not reusing trays. They don’t have a sign up, so at a buffet some ppl would naturally assume you get a new plate. ..The bill was $200+ for two adults, one senior and two 8 yr old kids, which is pretty steep.

Repeat visit from Montréal. 4 stars cause no lobsters today. Crab is ok for me, and it’s fresh. Love the duck tongues. Value for money.

We ordered two sets of half & half broths (pork bone soup, spicy, tomato, and mushroom). The food is self-serve all-you-can-eat style, with a huge selection of skewered meats (marinated or plain), seafood (including giant crab shells, lobster, prawns, shrimps, squid, and fish), and tons of vegetables all lined up along a wall. Each person can grab a metal tray and pile it high with food to bring back to their table. Unfortunately, the crab shells and lobster heads sunk down to the bottom of the pot immediately, so a good portion of tomalley was lost while cooking. Bonus points for the constant restock of seafood though. My favourite was the tomato broth as the slight acidity enhanced the flavour of the food. The restaurant was spacious and not too busy on a weekday night. We did have to flag the servers down a few times when we had issues with our hot pot stove (either over boiling or not heating up at all). The controls were not exactly user-friendly. We also had to combine our trays multiple times and ask the servers to take away empty trays as there was not enough space on the tables to accomodate everything. On the other side of the raw food is a sauce station where you can build your own concoction (soy, vinegar, peanuts, sesame oil and paste, sugar, scallions, ginger, etc). There is also a dessert station with fried sesame balls and pineapple. The experience was different from other hot pot places, but I'd say overall it was a 3.75/5.

Very rich dishes, highly recommended are the duck tongue and lamb tripe and the summer lemon pot bottom, which is refreshing and relieves greasiness!

What a great eating experience. I have been to a few hot pot restaurant in my life and this restaurant is the top of the list. The food is amazing and the service is great. The selections are plenty with great tasting soup base. I personally love the tomato base as I find it goes really well with seafood. Will definitely come back again.

Chengdu Spicy Chinese Cuisine was okay. Given the area and the number of amazing restaurants in the vicinity, I probably would not come here again. I can see how some people would be big fans (if you like more specialty Chinese dishes like frog legs, chicken heart, gizzard, etc), but as someone who isn't too adventurous I don't think it's necessary to come here. The primary reason we came was because they have all you can eat crab and lobster, which is pretty unheard of for other AYCE places. However, it was pretty difficult to get meat out of most of the pieces, although they did regularly refill the dishes despite each person basically loading up half their trays with seafood. One thing I did not like was their soup base. For $20 (split pot), this is more expensive than other, more luxurious hot pot places. And there was nothing special about the base taste. The meal itself was only $30 per person, which is a good AYCE price. However when paired with the soup base, and with tax and tip, we paid $105 for two people which is higher than other places. The section where you help yourself to the buffet ingredients is also very tight and poorly set up. You are basically back to back with other customers the whole time. It does become a bit of a pushing match depending who else is getting food at the same time as you.I will not be back but this restaurant is very busy so I'm sure they won't miss my business. Come early (around 6) if you don't want to wait - although the wait did not seem long. 2 free pops if you pay with cash but that didn't seem like a good enough incentive for me to pay with cash.
