I didn't go there to eat on this specific day however I have dined here before and it was a wonderful experience; I wanted to leave a review for Sophia and Effie as they were superb with helping me to get an uber to my destination as my service and Wi-Fi completely crashed on my phone! It was on Valentine's Day and I had just arrived in Toronto to meet up with friends when my phone signal went and they tried to assist me with their Wi-Fi however, my phone was still not connecting. The restaurant was busy and they still took the time to try to assist me so I truly appreciate their customer service because if it weren't for these patient and understanding ladies, I would have been stuck for hours in Toronto. Special thanks to Effie for going above and beyond!

Really delicious sushi and fries and meats and is a super fun place to host your bday party if you're in your late 20s-late 30s. Japanese Peruvian palette and I for sure wanna come back to try the tasting menu. Luxurious feel by offering to take coats. Entertainment was fun with the snake

We celebrated my 60th birthday at Chotto Matte Toronto this past Saturday night, and the entire evening was nothing short of exceptional.
From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was outstanding—vibrant, stylish, and energetic without feeling overwhelming. It set the perfect tone for a special celebration. The Peruvian‑Japanese (Nikkei) cuisine was a true highlight. Our group of four enjoyed the Deluxe Nikkei Sharing Menu, and every dish was beautifully presented, full of flavour, and thoughtfully curated to share. The balance of Peruvian and Japanese influences was creative and absolutely delicious.
We also tried several of their signature cocktails, which were expertly crafted and complemented the food perfectly.
A special mention to our server, Daniela, who provided exceptional service throughout the evening. She was attentive, friendly, and made us feel genuinely welcomed, helping turn a great dinner into a memorable birthday celebration.
Everything—from the food and cocktails to the service and ambiance—came together to create a very special and memorable experience. Highly recommend Chotto Matte for anyone looking to celebrate a milestone or enjoy an elevated dining experience in Toronto. We will definitely be returning.

Drinks are good, shishito peppers were good ceviche was good but the service was so bad… our water came after the drinks, they weren’t attentive and the food took a while but maybe I was just in a rush. Interior is gorgeous though!

We celebrated our anniversary here and it was nothing short of amazing. The ambience, music, and overall vibe were incredible. The food was outstanding, and what truly made the night special was the staff — at least five team members congratulated us and made us feel so celebrated. They even surprised us with a dessert at the end.

Such a memorable experience — not just dinner, but a whole vibe. Highly recommend for any special occasion. 🥂✨

Pretty atmosphere, great DJ. Service was nice. Music wasn’t too loud. Wasn’t able to try the food because it was a valentine’s set menu with multiple courses and our night was coming to a close.

I had a late valentine's day dinner at Chotto Matte on Sunday with my husband, and honestly, it was amazing! Far 3xceeded what I expected, especially re the service. We originally had made a reso for 3 thinking we would have to bring our baby, but we were able to get a sitter and have the night to ourselves. When the staff found this out they went out of their way to make the experience that much more special. The service was next-level—super friendly and totally on point. I wish I had gotten their names. But the manager and our waitress were honestly so sweet. The food came out fast and tasted awesome, and the whole vibe was just beautiful. They were accommodating of my preferences and it meant soooo much to me because getting out without baby and having a quiet uninterrupted dinner is a luxury I don't get to enjoy often. I’m definitely coming back! Thank you Chotto Matte and thank you so much ladies for making my husband and I's dinner that much better, your service honestly touched my heart <3

Great vibes, music, service, and very delicious food. I did the Valentine's Day set menu and the portions are small but pack a lot of flavour and variety.

These guys never pick up their calls. I left my purse last week and absolutely no one is there to dial to.

We got the Valentine’s Day set and the food very underwhelming especially for the price point. We spent a little less than $500 for two people after drinks and tip. The pacing of the service was off, two courses arrived simultaneously, then a course that was already served got delivered again to our table. Waygu Udon Carbonara and dessert took a very long time. The carbonara was coagulated and dessert lacked depth. The portions were also incredibly small - but not tasty or intricate enough to be passed as intentional.

Vday evening is an occasion where guests are intentionally seeking a special and romantic experience, and there should be extra consideration given to both quality and service. We came hoping for a memorable, intimate dinner, but the repeated service disruptions and inconsistencies in the food made it difficult to enjoy the evening.

The front of house staff were all pleasant, but the kitchen seemed to be struggling to keep up.

Went on a Valentine’s Day to give this restaurant a try. Conveniently located near the Union Station. Service and atmosphere was average I would say. They made a couple of mistakes including handing out my coat to someone else. I got the wine pairing with the deluxe menu. It was supposed to be spaced out for the duration of my meal but they brought out my drinks quickly. I was still enjoying my second glass of wine when they brought out my third glass. I also asked for some of the dishes to be changed but it looked like they forgot and had to be reminded . Overall , I felt like this place was not worth the price . It was way too expensive for the food that was being served .
